When Dragon turned around to face Vera once more, she was at an even greater distance from the Fiero than before. In fact, she was probably more than twice as far away from Vera as she had been the first time they did this. Dragon knew that this was likely a bit redundant, especially since she was pretty sure Vera would have been able to do this even without any training, but, like any responsible animal caretaker, she had to be absolutely sure.
"Okay Vera, come!" Dragon called now, and almost as quickly as she had said it, Vera was up on her feet once more, and she trotted all the way over to Dragon, closing the distance between them rather quickly.
So far, so good, Dragon thought to herself now. It was clear to her that Vera understood the bare basics of what they were doing. It was time to step it up, it seemed.

"Excellent work, Vera," Dragon said before giving Vera a slightly larger bit of meat. Once more, Vera took it gratefully, but she was still giving off the hint of confusion. Why exactly were they doing something so simple, again? Her alpha obviously knew what it was for, but the issue was that she just was not about to tell her what exactly it was that they were going to do after everything was said and done.
"Okay now, stay," Dragon once again said as she began walking even further away from Vera. She knew by now that Vera was probably starting to get bored of this already; she could see it in her expression. That would be perfect for this then; it would be the ultimate test to see if Vera could respond, even if she was doing something else. Or at least, part of the ultimate test.

This time, Dragon had walked at an even further length away from Vera, far enough away to where it seemed that Vera was no bigger than a rat, and with Vera's great size compared to most other female Fieros, that was quite a distance away. It was a good thing that the Training Meadow was a ridiculously huge place, otherwise Dragon would likely be crossing into someone's territory or something like that.
"Come, Vera!" Dragon shouted now, using the command up front instead of having other words present to help with making sure Vera was focused on her.
Meanwhile, Vera sighed heavily to herself as she forced herself back up onto her feet and began trotting over to where her alpha stood. This was getting repetitive. She realized that repeating something over and over was good for keeping a better memory of it, but really, what was the point of repeating something as simple as this over and over?

Dragon watched from afar as Vera made her way over to her, although it seemed that she was going at it a lot slower than she likely should be. Dragon concluded that Vera was either tired of all the moving around they did, or she was getting board. Tired she could understand, especially with Vera's condition. Bored would be something that would need addressing, because being bored would not be tolerated as an excuse for not doing something, especially for what she was planning to do after their training was complete.
Eventually, Vera was back in front of Dragon, but it was clear, at least to Dragon, anyway, that she was starting to get a little irritated of the training. Perfect.
Dragon took out another slice of meat, this one once more slightly bigger than the previous piece, but before she would give it to Vera, she was going to make a few things a little more clear.

Vera tilted her head at her alpha now when she saw that she had brought out the slice of meat, but had not given it to her or praised her for doing what her alpha had told her. Was there something that she had done wrong? But... how could she have? It was the exact same thing that she was doing over and over. What could there possibly be that she had done wrong somehow? She cocked an ear to the side and gritted her teeth a bit.
"I can definitely see that you're getting a bit frustrated with the repetitiveness of what I am teaching you," Dragon said now as she kept the piece of meat close to her. Vera gave a rather harsh groan in response in agreement. Who wouldn't be frustrated with having to do the same thing over and over?

Dragon nodded at this. "Well, unfortunately there isn't much I can do about that," she said. "I can understand how it feels to have someone repeating something to you over and over. Really, I do." Dragon grinned faintly. "However, sometimes you just have to suck it up and deal with it if the particular situation calls for it. And for what I have planned, it's going to be one of those particular situations where you're going to have to live with it even if it annoys you. Am I clear?"
Vera flattened her ears a bit and sighed heavily before she nodded her head. She still didn't know exactly what her alpha had planned, but whatever it was, it must be important, otherwise her alpha wouldn't be so keen on having her learn these things.
Dragon nodded again now. "Good," she said with a smile before she handed the bit of meat over to Vera.

Vera licked it out of her alpha's paw gently, wrapping her tongue around the slice of meat and bringing it into her mouth, where she chewed on it thoughtfully. She still didn't completely understand what exactly her alpha was going with all this, and this "plan" of hers, but it likely didn't concern her just yet. Her alpha will tell her in due time.
"Okay now, let us do this once more, shall we?" Dragon said now, bringing Vera's attention back to her alpha. "Stay." And then Dragon began walking away once more, hopefully for the final time for the training session. This time though, she was walking back over toward where there original spot in the Training meadow, where they had first begun their training. Luckily for her, Vera wasn't really watching her this time. As cruel as it might seem, to Vera at least, Dragon needed to be sure.

Vera laid her ears back as she bared her long fangs in a yawn, stretching out her long tongue to its full length as she took in as much air as she could through the one and only airway she had. As much as she wanted to please her alpha and show her that she was a loyal beta who could be depended on, the repetitive nature of this trick had pretty much worn her out. Now, granted, most of the attacks that her alpha had taught her were taught to her with repetition, but at least there was some form of action going on with it.
"Come!" Suddenly the voice of her alpha came to Vera's ears, and she turned her head to where the voice was coming from, ears pricked. However, Vera could not see anything, or at least, not with her heat sensor, or her eye.

Vera cocked an ear to the side now, contemplating the current situation she was now in. She swore that her alpha had called for her, and she also swore that she had walked behind her, back toward their usual spot. So how could she suddenly sound so close, and yet she didn't seem to be there at all?
Vera sighed now. It seems that her alpha disappeared on her again. God, she hated when she did that. How exactly was she to come to her, when she was hiding from her? Then she suddenly remembered what her alpha had told her just when they had finished that last thing she was taught. Something about using her other senses, rather than just her heat sensor.
Vera cocked her other ear to the side, just as she lifted her other one, before she opened her mouth and eye to survey the scene of where her alpha's voice had come from.

Vera's eyesight was pretty poor at from this distance, but what her eye could not see, her heat sensor made up for it. Eventually, she began trotting over to where her alpha should be. It seemed like a pretty logical area to start in anyway.
She kept her eye open, dangling from her tongue, as she continued trotting over and surveying the area. Her ears were pricked forward, trained on any sound that could potentially be from her alpha. There were days where she wished she could smell like the rest of her pack mates, but that was probably why her alpha hid; so she wouldn't have to need something like that to find anything without her heat sensor or eye.
Of course, the first thing that came into her field of vision eventually was the huge tree that they used to use when they were training for battles.

To strengthen the current theory she was coming up with, there was some sounds coming from behind it, with one of them being a yawn. Vera grinned at this; it definitely sounded like her alpha, alright. She knew no one else who had that particular sounding yawn to them.
Very carefully, Vera began creeping up to the tree, her paws touching the ground lightly with each step. Once she was close enough, she poked her head from her side of the tree to see her alpha leaning against it rather relaxed and patient.
As quietly as she could, Vera closed her eye and raised her tongue high above her alpha's head, but the suddenly--
"Don't even think about it," her alpha suddenly said. Vera nearly froze before she just let her tongue fall limply in front of her, and then she groaned. Well of course she'd expect that. Damn it!

Dragon chuckled now before she stood up and stretched before she turned to look back at Vera. "Well, took you long enough, but congratulations, you not only obeyed my command, but you found me as well," she said with a grin. "You've certainly come far with the advice, haven't you?"
Vera sucked her tongue back into her mouth before she nodded. Well, even though she wasn't able to prank her this time, at least she was still pleased at her being able to find her.
"Well, now I feel much more confident about leaving you somewhere and then having you come find me if for some reason I can't either find you or something ends up happening to me," Dragon said now. "Hopefully it will never come to that, but in this world, or any world for that matter, one can never know for sure what will happen, and therefore planning for the worst never hurts."
Dragon now took out an even bigger slice of meat and gave it to Vera. "I think we can say that we're officially done with this, since you've proven that no matter the circumstances, you'll come when you're called."
Vera nodded faintly as she chewed on the meat slice gratefully.

"And now, there is one final thing that we absolutely must do before we can even think about being ready for what we are going to be doing, and then we shall be completely finished and ready to go," Dragon said now before she turned to Vera. Vera finished eating the slice of meat that she was given before she looked back at Dragon, and she tilted her head at her.
"You still curious about what it is that I want us to be able to do after all this is finished?" Dragon asked now with a slight grin. Vera nodded before she tilted her head once more. Dragon's grin widened a bit. "Good," she said. "Hopefully that lets this last thing go by a bit faster."
Dragon began to back up a little bit. "But first, we must, once again, fall back on what I have previously taught you," she said. "Now stay."

Vera did not question her alpha as she began walking away. She knew well enough now on what exactly they were doing here. She may not know exactly what it was, but she had a feeling that it was something that was going to come after the second command. Her alpha loved patterns and working up to more complex things. That was how she trained just about everyone in their pack.
Dragon stopped walking now, but she still kept her back toward Vera. Looking over her shoulder at Vera, she uttered the command that Vera had predicted, "Come."
Vera began trotting over to her alpha, closing the distance between her and herself. However, once Vera was moving, her alpha began moving away from her as well. She tilted her head at this, but she just kept trying to close the distance between her and her alpha.

Dragon glanced back before she grinned faintly. Yes, Vera was definitely preforming the trick that she wanted her to preform. Even though this was just the first part of it, Dragon could already tell that this was probably going to be a rather simple and quick thing to train, as complex as it may seem to some. Now all she needed to do was apply the command to the action.
Dragon stopped for a moment before she took out a small bit of meat. Vera stopped behind her, tilting her head once more. Dragon turned around now and fed her the bit of meat. Vera licked it up and swallowed it, but not before she savored its flavor. But now she became confused again. She knew she was being rewarded for something, but what exactly was it? Her alpha hadn't uttered anything new for something like that to even be warranted.
