(Anyone can join 8,D just some quick gem-get)
God.
Sheeeet be boring.
Sprawled out on a rocky outcropping in the middle of a forested hill, Winter heaved out the longest yawn possible. She still hadn't found a place to live. Much less seen anybody familiar. A living creature in general, for that matter. As of now, she'd already accepted the life of a hobo- she didn't need a home. Maybe she could find a nice set of train tracks somewhere, and follow it to some big, grand city, where she could continue her life of gradually increasing squalor. That is, if trains and cities existed here. Probably not.
But first, she'd wait for it to get less hot. The cool stone surface felt like heaven through a thin tank top. As well as her arms, legs, and bare cheek. Occasionally she'd rearrange herself, so that she was resting her chin on her hands, or lying on her side, but not often on her back- the sun shone in her eyes then. She wished that the trees would hurry up and grow leaves already. They were just now budding, and her allergies would be acting up soon enough.
She shifted around again, letting out a pleasant baa-purr. Involuntarily, she knocked a small rock off the edge of the boulder, and listened lazily as it tumbled down the hillside.

Takka... takka... takka...
Winter stretched, her fingers and toes splayed. Well, crap. She opened an eye lazily, and grunted. Just remembered- I left my boots somewhere, didn't I? No matter, she could probably get a new pair somehow. It was about time she learned the fine art of cobbling.
Takka...
And- (goddammit,) what was that noise, even? Mustering the energy to lift her lazy ass up, she buttscooched over to the edge of her boulder to look for the cause.
Peering over it's flat edge, she searched among the thick tree-trunks. Nope, noth- wait. What was that rolling on the ground? Upon closer inspection, Winter spotted the same rock that she had nudged before, it's descent down the slope going at a rather quick pace. That must have been what was making the "takking" noises. Winter assumed it had bumped a few other rocks on it's way down.
Like that one it was headed for now. Of course, that one was a lot bigger- even, perhaps, the same size as her boulder. And it was teetering dangerously, balanced on another rock. If that thing were to go rolling, it could probably tear down a good-sized tree. Like the kind with little bird nests and other various animal homes in it.
Luckily, it wasn't like that balance was going to be disturbed anytime soon. Especially by some dumb sheepacat and a good-sized quickly-rolling stone.
"****."
The girl leaped from her rock, and half-ran-half-stumbled down the hillside. It was a lot steeper than she thought. Struggling to stay upright, she made one false footstep- (on a pointy pinecone, making her yelp,) and fell flat on her stomach. Sadly, she'd already built up a lot of momentum. Before she knew it, she was sliding on the wet leaves, scrambling for a way to stop.
She did, eventually. To her great relief. And then she realized that she had a bigger problem to attend to. Getting back to her feet, Winter was prepared to make another dive to stop the rolling disaster.
Too bad she was kind of ten seconds too late.
With a loud thump and a splintery CRACK, Winter flinched and turned to catch a last glimpse of the goliath boulder as it disappeared a mass of thick underbrush.
Stunned, the sheepacat stood, unmoving. And then she heard a louder, more thunderous CRACK, followed by a droning creak and finally, a smash. She watched through the leaves as an immense group of birds flew in many different directions, clearly distressed.
"Hnnn- ****!"
Considering her options quickly, Winter turned to make a run for it- (she didn't know why, it wasn't like she was about to get in trouble for toppling a few trees.) But, upon taking a quick few seconds of additional thought, she turned with in exasperated sigh and followed the boulder's trail through the woods.

Shuffling her feet, (obviously in no hurry to see the kind of damage she had done,) Winter continued down the boulder's path. It was littered with splinters of wood from trees that it had toppled, as well as torn branches. Every so often there was a crushed beetle. The sheepacat stuck her tongue out and gagged at these.
She had found a small pebble and was kicking it along, but realizing the irony in this, she stopped after a while. Somehow she even felt like she was being watched.
Winter hadn't realized at first how far the boulder had gone- it all seemed pretty quick to her, between seeing it roll of to that last and final "splinter-CRACK." But it had made quite a trail.
Getting sick of seeing dead bugs, Winter left the trail for just a moment to sit down on an old log. Her stomach rumbled. She replied with a plaintive groan. The girl even checked her pockets, knowing nothing would be there. She'd been here for- what, a day? And she'd totally forgotten that food was kind of a necessity. What was there to eat around here? Berries? Nuts? Well, Winter was no expert, so she clearly had no idea which of the various woodland snacks would kill her or not.
At that very moment, another noise sounded from the woods to her right side. She turned quickly, peering through the thick trunks of the trees.
What she saw confused her. It was as if a random mass of bright colors was flowing through the woods, dodging in between trees and swallowing up stones and stumps. And this mass made the most obnoxious, consistent rumbling. Like thousand of feet hitting the ground at the same time.
The worst part was, the thing was headed straight towards Winter.
She baa'd again, this time shrill and frantic, before standing and making a run back towards the crunched-up boulder's trail.

"OhgodIreallysuckatrunning"
Upon reaching the trail, Winter continued running- following it deeper into the forest. But it was of little use- to her right, The Mass continued to follow her, and it was catching up incredibly quickly. Apparently it preferred to stay off of the trail, as it was still moving through the trees, making no move to go after her.
So, if you're not after me, then what the hell are you doing?
Winter glanced over her shoulder again, to make more sense of the situation.
Now that it was closer, the sheepacat did have a better view of the thing. It was fat, and sprawled over a good ten yards. It was even longer from front to back. Anything that it ran into, it seemed to swallow up- and as for tree trunks, it didn't even bother going around them. In fact, the trees seemed to pass right through it. And she'd already noted how colorful the thing was.
But the one thing she did notice now that she hadn't noticed before- it had legs. It looked like a hundred of them. Not only this, but heads- about thirty to fourty of them, spotted all down it's back, and each topped with a pair of antlers.
Wait.
Legs? Antlers?
Immediately, Winter stopped in her tracks, and began to laugh. Oh god, what an idiot she was. That wasn't a monster, it was just a bunch of-
And, at that moment, the mass burst from the cover of the trees and onto the path. With a yelp, Winter dove for cover behind a thick stump and toppled log. There, she waited, as three-dozen deer leaped directly over her head.

The herd had nearly passed.
It was only a few seconds, but to Winter, it seemed even longer. She waited, as deer after deer jumped through the air. Their coats were certainly a sight to behold. Winter couldn't remember Wolf saying anything about these guys. Or maybe she had, but the sheepacat hadn't been paying attention.
Most of the group was through. It sounded like there was only one straggler left. Winter straightened up, preparing to stand again- but as she did, the final dear leaped for it, one of his back hooves nicking the top of one of her horns.
The deer stumbled and fell. The sheepacat felt her horn, dumbfounded. She'd barely felt it, but she just wanted to make sure no damage had been done. Didn't feel like it. She wanted to keep these things spick and span until she found a mirror. As of yet, she hadn't gotten the chance to get a good look at her new body.
The deer hardly seemed phased by it's fall. Neither did its friends, for that matter. They'd all already disappeared. The creature got back up awkwardly as Winter watched. And then something caught her eye.
On one of it's antlers, two identical objects were caught- the sun glinted off a bit of metal on one of them. A zipper. One of the objects fell to the ground, looking quite familiar- made of black, smooth cloth.
"My boots!" Winter cried suddenly. "Wha- how did you end up with-?"
But, before she could finish, the startled deer vanished in the same direction as the rest. Along with her other boot.
"HEY! Wait a moment, you stupid deer! I need that!" Grumbling, Winter grabbed the nearest rock and chucked it, but it was pretty pointless- the deer had already gone. "... You fart."
Muttering under her breath, Winter picked up the first boot, and slung it over her shoulder. No use wearing it without the other. She felt only slightly grateful that the deer had run in the same direction she was going, but she still had little hope she'd ever see her other boot again.

Shika sighed lightly as she had climbed up into a tree, sitting in a crook of branches. She stretched her bare feet on the bark as she looked up toward the clouds kinda tiredly. Ironically enough it was cool the higher up she got, a trick she'd learned back on Earth. The breezes tickled at her face and hair, liking a calm moment that was rather common for her.
Suddenly she jumped hearing a clatter of hooves. She looked down and saw a herd of the colorfully splattered versions of normal deer running through. She tilted her head at them as they ran off. Had they been spooked by something? She strained her ears for anything more then shrugged, leaning back again. She soon heard someone nearby shouting. She started to climb down the tree as she saw a deer obviously trying to catch up with the others-something was caught on it's antler...Poor thing.
She looked toward where they had come from as she jumped to the ground. "Hello?" She called out.

Well, now that the excitement was over, Winter finally had time to actually think. Something had occurred to her that she didn't realize before. She assumed that the herd got spooked due to her boulder. But, what stupid deer in it's right mind would go running towards the source of a scary noise, instead of away? Clearly, these were no ordinary deer. They were even dumber. Pretty, though.
Furthermore, how did that one end up with her boots in the first place? It would help if she could remember where she left them, but her memory was failing her as of late. For instance, basically everything Wolf had told her about this world before she came. Yeah. That would have been nice to remember. She probably should have taken notes, at least.
So, the sheepacat continued her way down the path, (she figured it wouldn't be long now before she found it's end.)
"Hello?"
No.
Hell no. Deer couldn't talk, right? Besides the mental cap, their mouths wouldn't be able to physically... form... words? Right? Damn. Maybe it wasn't even a deer.
... Did bears exist here? Would their mouths be able to physically form words?
"NOSHUTUP" Winter yelled in response. She rose her remaining boot high over her shoulder, ready to chuck it if necessary.

She waited until she got some response-it wasn't exactly what she had been hoping for though and her cream ears flicked oddly. Okay so there was a person but they didn't sound like they really wanted to be bothered. She pondered if Salki had reported knowing anyone like that but she couldn't think of anyone. All the same, this person sounded maybe...a tint of some kind of confusion in their voice.
She began to walk toward the source. "You probably shouldn't answer if you want to be left alone, because that just told me that someone /is/ there..." She said lightly somewhat in a simple voice of a kid explaining something they learned in school to a adult who had forgot it. She didn't walk on the path but between some trees-in case the person was going to be angry. Stranger danger, that's what she was told in kindergarten.

(Sorry, I was walking the dog 8,D)
The response came without them- whoever it was- missing a beat. The voice sounded clear and feminine, but but Winter didn't see anyone. In any case, it rang out from the woods, so the Sheepacat turned in the same general direction. At least now she'd spot them if they attacked. She lowered her head defensively, searching for the speaker. But she saw nobody- they must be pretty good at hiding. If something did leap out at her, perhaps she'd have to put these new horns of hers to use.
Of course, it took her a moment to process what the mystery lady had said. "Uh... I'm not so sure I wanted to be left alone earlier... but I think I kinda do now?" She lowered the boot. No matter what this thing was, a boot wouldn't make for a very good weapon. She decided to drop it instead, and bent down to grab something else- a rather thick branch.
"That does kinda depend, though- are you gonna eat me or not?"

The young catgirl could hear the quiet sounds that the ground made as the other person came toward her too. She tilted her head oddly at the response, obviously from a female person. She wasn't too sure what to make of this person but she couldn't help feeling somewhat excited at the idea of meeting someone new. She strained her full green eyes ahead, happy she had gotten perfect sleep the previous night. She really wanted to see her, just that curious.
Her next words made her stop for a moment. She stifled a laugh, that being to no end of amusement to her. "Eat you-? Of course not! Why would I eat you?!" she giggled hoping the girl wouldn't be annoyed at her amusement but she couldn't help it. It was just too funny! That was when she got her first glance of her through the trees. She had some strange hair, cream and brunette and it seemed she was taller, maybe older then her. And...She had horns-curled back like a ram's.

"... That's a relief."
Winter straightened back up with a snort. Score one for not getting eaten. She'd survive. Slowly putting the stick back down and once again picking up her boot, the sheep-girl tried to make herself relax. Things really weren't as bad as they seemed- in fact, strange voices from the forest should probably be expected. Maybe. Winter still didn't know what was normal and what wasn't here.
Once again, the girl tried to spot her invisible friend. Still nothing, though. She snorted again, and her voice still seemed a bit unsure.
"S'what? Did this place turn you into a chameleon or something? It's awkward talking to a bunch of trees."
But after a moment of thought, Winter realized she shouldn't be jumping to conclusions. She had no idea this thing was human, after all. But She didn't exactly want to wait to find out. If Winter was gonna live in this world, she'd better learn to face her problems head-on. So, she went with her gut- the sheepacat headed into the trees and kept an eye out.
"That is, uh, if you did come from earth. For all I know you could be a really loud mosquito."
She'd never really enjoyed the game hide-and-seek. It was kinda stressful. Especially because you never knew where anyone was, or if they were planning to jump out at you. Looking back on it, Winter figured that this stress stemmed from a specific source: She'd only ever played the game in a graveyard. At night.

She had noticed the large stick before she put it down. She was glad she was friendly from the getgo. "No... I came from Earth though, yes..." she blinked "I'm sorry-I hadn't thought of that..." She felt a flutter in her chest as she saw her coming into the forest. For a moment she ducked behind a tree. Then she realized she was being silly and stepped out in the other's plain view.
"I'm not a mosquito either..." she said lightly, somewhat shyly as she looked at her. "You seem very new here-No offense..." She gave a friendly smile as she stepped closer, her fluffy tail flicking from side to side as she reached her hand out. "Like I said, sorry about all the sneakiness...My name's Shika." She was able to glance her over better-What odd things coming here did to people..."

Winter walked slowly. The other one still hadn't shown up yet, but she was still speaking. So she was from earth, huh? At that moment, the sheep-girl felt an immense feeling of relief. Finally! Another human! A creature she could actually interact with! Not just a colorful deer, or even a sentient wolf-beast that this entire world was centered on, (a creature she had yet to meet,) but an actual, two-legged person. It was as if a load was lifted off of her back.
At that moment, Shika stepped out into the open- taking Winter completely by surprise. She took a step back. The girl had completely blended in... somehow. Now that the sheepacat could see her, it was kinda hard to miss that bright red hair. But it was as if this person was meant to be in the forest. She certainly looked in her element.
"Definitely not a mosquito." Winter replied shakily. She hadn't yet realized, but the girl was rather young- shorter than her, too. "Yeah... jeeze, has this place been kind to you."
It was the truth, too. Winter couldn't take her eyes off of those ears, the silvery eyes- and even as the girl stepped forward to shake hands, a swish of fur caught Winter's attention. A long, luxurious, dark tail. Winter twisted around, looking back at her own fuzzy stump of a tail. She frowned.
And then, suddenly, she realized the cat's hand was still outstretched. With a quick and sheepish (hurr) baa, Winter returned the shake. "Shika? Right. I'm Winter. No offense taken, it's true anyway- I literally have no idea what's going on."

(Okay so bad me and I'm lazy-I did screw up things about her cause when I moved her over to Digis and here, I changed like a bunch of colors X'D I'm sorry I'm glad I realized finally.)
She couldn't help but smile more, playfully as she saw that the sheep-like girl was surprised in counts of her appearance. She giggled and nodded then tilted her head. What did she mean? As she was closer she could tell the 'hair' wasn't hair after all-it was fluffy fur, like a boa of fur had been attached to frame her face. It would probably keep her warm in the cold-if it was cold.
She giggled lightly at the small baa sound that came from her as she talked again. "Nice to meet you Winter...By the way this world gave you some good things too..." She said almost thoughtfully. "Like those horns-good protection...All I have are these and I can't even control them, but they're cool, they work when I need them." She lifted her hand again and pressed into her finger gently with the other. One of her sharp claws flicked out and she let go, it sinking back, smiling at her new friend. "Not that there's a lot to protect yourself from-except those possessed fieros..." She blinked and quickly murmured. "But I haven't seen any of them, I don't think they'd attack humans."
Shika shook her head and grinned, raising an eyebrow. "Well-how long have you been here...? I've been here a few months..."

(Paha, no problem~ c:)
"Pbbbth, good things... yeah right." Nonetheless, Winter reached up to feel at a horn. They were pretty sturdy, but Winter hadn't headbutted anything yet. She'd probably end up getting a headache if she tried.
When Shika presented her claws, Winter, once again, was taken aback. After a moment, she realized that she shouldn't be- the girl was a cat, after all. Those claws... that really would be really useful. You could climb trees and catch food easily with those things. Considering the fact that Winter had turned into her fursona, (more or less,) she should probably be grateful. But if only she'd taken on some of the more useful attributes. Extra limbs would have been fantastic.
Wait a moment. Winter had gotten off track again. What had Shika said?
"Possessed fieros?" Ignoring Shika's final question, the sheepacat frowned, clearly confused. "Like... ghosts? They've been possessed by the dead?" She did her best to make sense of it, but without any luck. Ghosts exist here? And why were they only going after Fieros? ... What did Wolf think of this?
