If only Winter had run more before she came here. She was already breathing rather hard, and her sprint was more of a slow amble- most of all she cursed the heavy horns on her head and the thick mane around her neck. The sheepacat felt overheated.
Thus it took almost no time at all for Shika to catch up with her. Winter glanced over at the cat-girl, and slowed down to a jog.
"Well... in case you haven't noticed... I'm missing a boot... pfah." She huffed. "Deer has the other one..."
She paused a moment to catch her breath. She knew finding a specific deer in an entire forest would be improbable, especially when she'd just seen a herd so huge. Thankfully they were all uniquely-colored. And hers would be the only one with a boot on its head. When she spoke again, it came easier.
"And, um, I guess check up on a rock slide that I may or may not have accidentally caused. Just to make sure... uh, y'know, I didn't break anything important."

Shika ran a little less now, her own breathing kinda becoming shallow just from the running. She usually didn't run ever. She never had anywhere to be or any reason to and she'd rather hang lazily from a tree any day of the week.
Her ears perked up quickly at the odd explanation. "A deer has your other boot?" Shika had somewhat noticed the missing boot dilemma but she hadn't any attention to spare at that moment cause Winter had mentioned Salki. She looked around, wishing she had a bottle of water for Winter since it seemed she was straining to speak.
She blinked her dark eyes repeatedly at the next statement, widening a little in wonder. "A rockslide?! What in the world were you up to before I ran into you?" She asked in a voice that was probably akin to a mother on a sitcom. She wasn't quite sure where that even came from.
