She noticed the lack of enthusiasm in her voice. That was fine; she'd probably come to enjoy those things eventually, it was just like her initial reaction to the new attributes obviously.
She sighed lightly and shrugged as she was prompted to explain the problem currently going on. "I don't really know much...My friend told me about it, she knows more because she has fieros already. No, not by ghosts...by dragons. Apparently, Wolf was telling people to use them on their fieros because they raised different stats and people were using them for a while...Then one night all the fieros that had their stats raised by dragons were possessed by them. Their eyes turned red and they got all transparent-like a ghost's..." She gave a small shiver but went on. "The fieros left their owners and also kidnapped puppies...The only way to stop them is to face them in a battle with other fieros, non-possessed ones."
Shika didn't like talking about it-it seemed so dark. "Anyways-wanna come back to my cave for some food or something?" she asked, flicking her tail happily.

Most of the dragon stuff was going right over Winter's head. Dragons? There were dragons here too? Okay, this place was just plain ridiculous. How did you "use" a dragon anyway?
At Shika's invitation, Winter visibly brightened up. "OHGODyespleasethankyou" That sounded absolutely fantastic. In the past few days, she'd missed having a roof over her head, and she desperately needed food- in fact, she couldn't remember having eaten since being on earth. Did she bring that up before? She wasn't sure. But she was overly enthusiastic to get some food in her belly. So, without further ado, she rashly grabbed Shika's wrist and began walking off. Then she remembered she had no idea where Shika's cave was and let go.
"Um, how much of a walk is it, though?" She inquired, swinging her remaining boot over her shoulder. Winter couldn't help feeling as if she were forgetting something. Oh well. The promise of food had completely shoved it out of her mind, whatever it was.
"Oh! Wait, do you have any fieros? I probably should have asked this earlier. OH OH and you also mentioned having a friend? Do they live nearby? How many others are there? I've had zero luck finding anyone. At all."

She blinked and giggled, not expecting such an estatic reaction. Maybe she really hadn't had that much luck here with the basic needs. She stared as she started to get dragged away and started to walk so she wouldn't be at all. She started to say where they would need to go then laughed as she was ninja'd in her words. "It's not too far, I was over near there when I heard you..." She looked at the boot in her hand and tilted her head remembering the deer with the odd black thing on it's antler and thought if it might be her missing boot-maybe not though...
Shika shook her head, having thought she had made that clear earlier. "No, not yet...Yes, but it's a fair while away and I'm not sure if she'd be home today...Uhm-I'd say at least 13 maybe but I haven't met many...That's odd, I saw someone walking out here with their pup a few weeks ago..." Her head spun a little with the various questions but tried to give Winter the best answers she could.

Maybe Winter shouldn't have asked so many questions. She could hardly keep up with all the answers- still, though, it was reassuring to hear that there were other people. Winter had begun to feel quite lost.
So, if there were other people, how many of them would Winter know? From what she recalled, a good number of internet-friends had followed Wolf over, and the sheepacat was highly curious to see what they all looked like now. Hopefully she'd still be able to rag on Tiger for her dumb unicorn horn. Or steal Salki's halo when she wasn't looking. But she'd have to find them first. Maybe Shika's friend was somebody she knew. This thought was rather comforting.
But wait! Winter was also forgetting the fieros- where would she find her first one? Perhaps having a pet- (You could call them pets, right? They're literally just giant dogs. Well, supersmart ones.) having a pet would help her get over some homesickness. Strangely enough, Winter was starting to miss a lot of earth's comforts. Not to mention a few close friends- shortly after Chess and Creeper left, Sparkle and Isabelle mysteriously disappeared. And after Winter arrived in the world of fieros, her naggy daemon did the same. Well, that's not to say she hadn't done so many times before. But at least whenever Winter had a bad idea, Kabe was there to warn her. The sheepacat had been having a ****load of bad ideas lately. But no daemon.
Wow, this train of thought was somehow depressing. Winter, you idiot, change the subject already.
"So, uh, tell me about your Fiero? Also, are we nearly there yet?"

It seemed as if her new friend kept going into some random thoughts. She blinked at her when she spoke again. Was she not listening or did she seriously keep missing this? She felt like a broken record. "Winter, I don't have a fiero, remember...Also, yes, we're here..."
She smiled as they walked closer. The cave was a small one, not cramped for a few people, but cozy. When she had first been looking for a cave with Salki the cave had a nice nest of moss already growing. Now she had fashioned more grass and clovers into it and even a few flowers seemed to be growing into it with Spring. A quilt was draped over it and a fireplace sat a fair distance away near the entry-way of the cave. "You might have to crouch a little..." She said back to Winter as she walked in and reached around her bed. She pulled out a beat-up satchel and sat criss-cross applesauce as she rummaged through it. "Do you want blueberries, an orange or an apple...?" Shika asked brightly as she set aside a handful of berries for herself.

"Oops. Hehe. Right." Yeesh. Pay attention, Winter.
Luckily, it hadn't been that long of a walk. Perhaps the sheepacat should have noticed they were so close before she'd asked the question- they were in sight of it. Then again, the place wasn't that noticeable, was it?
A cave? She lives in a friggin' cave?
Not that Winter wasn't grateful. It would be nice to sit back and relax for a bit, but... seriously? A cave? How could anybody live in there for an extended amount of time? The ceiling seemed pretty low, and it must be rather drafty and cold. If it weren't for the fireplace in the back, she guessed.
Winter lingered about the entrance for a bit, frowning slightly. Well, she shouldn't seem so surprised. After all, Shika did seem to be a bit... wild-child ish. So what if it wasn't a house? At least there would be a roof over her head. So, at Shika's advice, Winter ducked and scooted on in.
Oops. Forgot about those horns. She hadn't ducked enough, and the annoying things made an annoying scrape-y sound against the stone ceiling. Winter cringed momentarily, before making herself even shorter and finally sitting down in front of Shika. She attempted to criss-cross-applesauce, but wasn't flexible enough. She instead dropped the boot by her side and hugged her knees to her chest.
But, at the mention of one thing, she immediately perked up.
"APPLEOMGAPPLEIWANTTHEAPPLEAPPLEAPPLE" The sheepacat then proceeded to make grabbyhands at the fruit.

Shika's sensitive soft ears flickered about with the sudden screechy-sound caused by her horns. She looked to her and blushed slightly somewhat flustered. "Oh-I'm sorry about that...You're okay right? I did kinda pick a place that's me sized..." She bit her lip a little cause she didn't look too comfy.
She stared at the sudden sparked interest in the fruit. She picked it up out of the bag and couldn't help but tease the older girl a little bit, holding it from her hands and swinging it from side to side. Her expression made her think of a dog begging for a treat! This only lasted for a moment though and she giggled lightly as she let the red apple fall into her hands. "I guess you like apples...?" She picked up the berries again, trying not to get the blue juice everywhere as she nibbled on a few. "So uhm...Why'd you come to this world-?" She asked, suddenly curious as she curled her long tail around herself.

"AAaaah yeah I'm fine~" Winter replied, following up with a joyous 'baaa' as the apple was dropped into her hands. She probably should have been annoyed with the teasing, but she'd let it slide for now.
Immediately she took a large bite of it, chewing hungrily as Shika asked her question. She needed a moment to think on it though, so she took another bite and thought for a while. Afterwards, she took one final bite, not bothering to swallow before she spoke-
"Ahyeah. Wolf told me about this place at first, but I had some stuff to do at home first. I mean, back on earth. So I sent a couple-a friends ahead of me, but I seriously have no idea where they ended up."
Yeah, what had happened to those two? Winter seriously couldn't imagine either Creeper or Chess making it in the wild on their own. Chess couldn't stand nature. And Creeper... had probably already fallen off a cliff. She will be missed. The sheepacat took another bite of the glorious fruit.
"Anyway, things got kinda boring for me, so when the timing was right, I just headed on over. Y'know- why not? So, ah, what about you? How'd you end up here?"

Shika giggled a little more at the 'baa'. She would probably get used to it before but she found it cute like a character from a tv show she remembered a far way back. She waited semi-patiently for Winter to answer, beginning to flick the berries into the air to catch. She gave a nod at that and smiled. "Well I'm sure they're somewhere around here..."
She finished her berries before she sat up some more when it was her turn to answer a question. "Well, you see my best friend Salki told me about this place and asked me to come with. I couldn't imagine being left behind without her cause she's like a sister to me so I went to one of those portal thingies with her and here I am!" Her fluffy tail swished in the air by her as she smiled. "She's doing a lot better then I am at this fiero thing though...I guess that's cause she had fieros on Earth and all yanno?"

Winter stopped chewing.
"Wrrrait. Didja say... Salki?"
Suddenly Winter beamed, bits of apple sticking out of her teeth. SALKI! Finally, somebody she knew. At least, somebody who knew somebody she knew. She was tempted to ask a bunch of questions, like where-does-she-live and how-long-has-she-been-here and did-she-ever-mention-me and wait-how-heck-did-you-guys-meet-anyway. So she did. In one long incomprehensible jumble.
Seriously, though. First, another person. Then a roof. Then learning about somebody she knew actually living nearby- today was seriously full of surprises. But, then, she remembered one more rather important question.
"Oh, but, has she... uh, changed?"
Not that Winter would mind too bad, that is. At least as long as it was something small, or something she could easily recognize Salki by. Having come after both Creeper and Chess, you could say she was somewhat surprised about what happened to those two. And as much as she could handle it, the sheepacat couldn't help but wonder how okay they were. Chess certainly didn't seem to like being small. Especially since this world was home to wolves the size of horses. Hopefully Winter's other friends had had better luck.

(WHOOP REPLIED IN WRONG BOARD, LEMME WRITE UP A REPLY TO THIS~)
Her eyes widened nodding obliviously. "Yeah-! We're close." She nodded, flicking her tail kinda excited to be talking to a friend of Salki's. Suddenly another torrent of questions broke out of her but she didn't really catch any of them specifically. She told the answers in another order then what she had asked the questions in; she lived nearby like she said-she had been there as long as Salki, a considerable number of months-she was always mentioning this group of friends to her, specifically when she asked her to come to the new world-they met a few years ago randomly. She didn't give too much detail on this last bit.
She giggled at the question then smiled. "Well she still has her halo she carried around...Now she has ears and a tail like mine but they're a chocolatey brown and white tipped on one of the ears and her tail but I think she's more of a wolf like how I'm kinda a cat, yanno?"

"... Halo?" Winter stared blankly at Shika's face, a bit of drool and apple juice dribbling from the side of her mouth. The girl suddenly snapped back to attention, shook her head and stood up straight once more.
"Urhem-" She cleared her throat. "Sounds like Salki, alright. It's funny, though, I've never met her in real life. It'll be pretty exciting when I actually do..." She trailed off again, looking down at her hands. All that was left of the apple was the core. Unfazed, the sheepacat shrugged and bit through the middle, crunching on the seeds and holding a half in each hand. She swallowed, and began chewing on these too.
It took her a moment to realize that this ritual was completely new to her. Not that she was complaining.
"So, uh, you seriously live out here, like, all by yourself? Without a computer or video games or a TV or anything?" It had recently occurred to Shika's guest that this would be the type of life she'd have to lead soon enough. But she wasn't sure she was quite ready for it.
And, she still couldn't shake the feeling that she was forgetting something. She stared down at her single boot absentmindedly.
... It would come to her later, surely.

Shika paused in her slicing open the orange with her claws, staring at her strange trance like look. Her new friend must have a thing for halos-or atleast Salki's halo. She giggled as she continued to spin the orange and finally popped out a piece with a 'shick', popping it into her mouth before she stared awed at Winter.
"Really-? I mean you never really met her?" Her lips pulled into a wide smile, feeling excited that the two would meet, who never met before in the physical sense. She barely batted an eye at her chomping through the core. It seemed like something a sheep or goat would do, like how Shika had adopted a few cat practices.
She tilted her head innocently and nodded hard, somewhat proud of herself. "Oh yes, I've lived like this for a long time, even before I came here...Except yanno, the occasional time when Salki let me borrow her Gameboy. Ohhh I love that..." Her tail flicked as she hummed.

"Yeah. We knew each other from the internet." A corner of Winter's mouth pulled down a little into a lopsided frown. "Stupid technology letting us become friends with people who live nowhere near you." She must have sounded kind of sour. Really, though, the reason was more probably because now she'd completely run out of apple, and a core to chew on. She nibbled the bare stem absentmindedly.
"Gameboy, eh? Heh, I wonder when the next time I'm gunna see another one of those is." The sheep-girl chuckled awkwardly, not having much of a response. She couldn't think of what more to say. First conversations with strangers were never a talent of hers.
The awkward-chuckle stopped short. Something pretty important had just crossed her mind.
"Baa!" She blurted, quickly scrambling to her feet. She snatched up her remaining boot, attempting to put it on while she hopped up and down on her other leg. This resulted in her horns violently bumping against the ceiling again, sending a jolt down her spine.
"Baa-aa-aaaaw jesus," She exclaimed, rubbing the back of her neck and glaring upwards. She then turned to make a dash for the mouth of the cave. (Also forgetting to excuse herself.)

She tilted her head, confused by the conflict of Winter's words and her expression. Really, this sounded like a good thing to her, if she had ever gotten the chance to have constant internet, she might be able to make more friends-but Winter seemed sorta in a sourpuss sorta mind frame over the whole thing. All the same, she opted to giggle a little, nodding. "Yeah, probably is gonna be a while, not sure how we're going to get anything elec-" Shika jolted with the sudden 'baa' that left her new friend.
An oddly climatic moment later, she was gawking wide-eyed at the mouth of the cave, having been left alone in her cave. The only thing that she could think of was...WHAT IN THE EVER LOVING NAME OF CHRIST HAD JUST HAPPENED?! She cringed as she re envisioned the harsh banging against the rock as she had bolted up. Something was wrong, but what-What had invited such a sudden leave?
Finally she hopped up, sleek ears pressed back against her hair as she feebly sprinted after her. "Wi-Winter-?! Where are you going...?"
