She was not lost. No, no she wasn't. The fiero's dark brown and yellow dragon wings flexed anxiously. She was just at the house a few minutes ago... Her alpha had come down with something. She hadn't left her bed except to go to the bathroom and make them food a few times a day, for the last three days. Her growl had lowered into a murmur. This confused and scared Rei and herself. This morning she had decided to go and try to find something to help her. Rei decided to stay, totally glued to Mariella's bedside. Not that this helped anything; she was now lost and without anything to help their ailing master. Her panic rose; sure, Rei was there, holding down the fort, but she had to be there for both of them. She suddenly launched into a run; if she kept running she'd have to get back. (151) (Level: 3.4)

Roshan reaffirmed his hold on the rabbit in his mouth as he navigated his way back to the house he shared with his pack. He hadn't gone hunting because he needed to; matter of fact, Salki probably would prefer him not to. He wanted to bring something back for his pack mate Butterscotch. She was almost like an older sister to him, and he felt as close to her as his brother Comet, who he hadn't seen for a few months. She had been having a down-period, something obviously bothering her, but nothing seemed to cheer her up. Suddenly he cocked his ears up as he heard something rustling through the air nearby. Before he could even think of how to react to this new information, something large and brown crashed into him, knocking him over and sending the dead rabbit out of his mouth. "Wh-what the hell?!" He jumped back onto his paws, his tails furrowing in anger before he stopped, tilting his head. (165) (3.1)

Shasta gasped loudly as she saw a fiero right in front of her; but it was too late to stop herself. She collided head on with the other fiero, sending her off toward the side. A splash of pain sprang through her head, a moment of pause before she heard the other fiero speak. She turned to look at him as quickly as possible, sitting up.
The other fiero she had run into turned out to be a male...And he didn't sound too pleased about what just happened. She couldn't blame him though, she would feel the same way. "My apologies..." she said quietly. She wanted to keep moving but as soon as she had been stopped, she realized her legs were tired and sore from her trek.
Besides, he was a decent amount smaller than her. If he decided to attack, she could dismiss him without any problem.

The creature that had ran into him was a fiero...a female with brilliant brown and amber markings that jagged up and down her body; and wings! Large, reptilian looking wings...Most of the fieros he knew, didn't have any special parts to them, except for his father's multiple tails and his own six. He really loved those wings though...
The female wheeled about to face him and he couldn't help but chuckle at her choice of words. She sounded like his father, all prim and proper. Butterscotch and the caught rabbit went forgotten as he shook his head with a slight smirk. "No problem...What's a pretty little thing like you doing out here?" He crooned, not sure where these words came from. This was his first time meeting another fiero that was not one of his family or his pack and the words just came out in this way.

Shasta tilted her head before scoffing loudly, ears cocked down at this less than respectful question, even after she'd been so polite...She was no longer nervous; she was ticked off.
"Little? Have you looked into a pond lately?" She ignored her pain as she pushed herself to her paws, illustrating clearly that she was at least half a foot taller than him. Except for now as she looked at him, she noticed his tails...He had more than one. Looked like four or five-but she wasn't going to take the time to count them. This male had already shortened her patience, and they'd only been talking for a few moments. She wondered haphazardly if this was some strange record for bad first impressions.
Her eyes wandered beyond the irritating male to a freshly killed rabbit that he must have been carrying. She wondered if he was a wild fiero; no. No, he couldn't be.

Roshan was taken aback by this biting remark. He liked it; the fact she had thrown something right back at him. At home, he had no one to bounce things off of. He followed her gaze as he saw the rabbit he killed and remembered his packmate. He walked back to it and put his paw on it; not that he thought she would steal it, but just because this would probably help him remember it before he left. He tilted his head gently at her. "Heh...This shrimp was enough to knock you off your feet though..." She shot him another death glare before beginning to stalk off "I don't have time for this..." she muttered as she began to walk away.
He noticed she was sort of limping. Had she really hurt herself? He cocked his ears down. Maybe he had gone too far. "Hey, hold on-!" She didn't stop though and he quickly picked up his kill. He bounded after her, turning about to be in her path. "I'm sorry...Listen, you can have this." He laid the rabbit down in front of her. He could always catch Butterscotch something else before he got home.

She growled a little in frustration as the male blocked her path. Shasta knew that he was trying to make up for earlier but she shook her head. "Really, I do need to go-" She murmured as she slowly looked down toward the rabbit. It seemed like it couldn't have been killed more than moments before she bumped into him; and as she noted this, her stomach growled greedily. She had been wandering around all day. She'd eat and then go home. "Alright...Thank you..." She began to eat, but didn't sit down, in case she'd feel like sleeping.
"What are you doing out here?" She looked up, licking her muzzle off gently as she thought about this question. She didn't figure there would be much harm in confessing her intentions of her venture. "My alpha is very sick...I thought I could find something to help her today-but I ended up getting kind of turned around....then I ran into you...What about you? I mean you were obviously hunting..."

Roshan was pleased that she accepted his gift, smiling and nodding in approval. He let his curiousity come out in a question more civilized and nicely crafted than his earlier statement. The female accepted this wording and he tilted his head at her answer. He could definitely understand an alpha being sick. Salki would periodically start to get sniffly and cough around the house; but it was never anything too serious. Kaleb referred to it as something...Allergies? Whatever Shasta's alpha had... it didn't sound like this though. "I'm sorry..." He cocked his ears at her return question. "Well, I was hunting for one of my packmates. I can get something else for her though."
He sat back and began to scratch at one of his ears with his back paw before jumping to attention as his mind pulled back a memory. "Oh-! Maybe some silverleaf could help your alpha!" He saw her confused look before trying to explain. "Well, my mom, she was a battler in the war and-" "War...?" Roshan cocked his ears up gently, "Yeah...the Dragon War. You know?"

Shasta cocked her ears downward gently at that. Was Roshan messing with her? He couldn't be serious-unless she just hadn't heard about this war. This was somewhat possible; Mariella didn't seem to be in touch with other people. She seemed to keep Rei and herself.... "No...I don't know."
He looked shocked beyond belief. "You don't?! Wow-! You must have been living under a rock!" She gave him a dirty look before he cleared his throat and continued. "Basically there was a huge dragon, who used her powers to posses most of the adult fieros at the time and made them kidnap any pups with their alphas...." She stared and felt her stomach twitch with anxiety. This sounded awful; she couldn't imagine Mariella finding that both her fieros had left her. Or her taking the small Rei to the monstrous dragon...She shivered. "Anyway; the dragon was destroyed a couple of moons ago...By my mother." He gave a proud smirk, as he obviously thought this made him a gift to the universe.

Roshan had always viewed his mother as a great, respectable warrior, especially when he was just a pup. "What does this have to do with this silverleaf thing...?" She seemed not-impressed by his mother's feat and he sighed, guessing he'd be more concerned with helping Salki as well. "Well, mom got injured a few times in the battles leading up to the dragon...My alpha found a herb that, when you grind it up and swallow it, helps out a lot with soreness..." He nodded hard, remembering once when he was a pup and was given some after he had hit his head on a tree trunk. "Stuff works like magic..."
"Sounds like just the thing I wanted!" Shasta's black and gray tail wagged quickly and her orange tinted wings gave a flutter in excitement. "Do you know where to find it?!" He blinked, finding the way she reacted simply adorable and he didn't skip a beat in responding. "Yeah, I know where it is..." Truth was he only knew the general area and how the plant looked. Of course, that was a while ago-it could be a different place now...

Shasta couldn't believe her luck. She was sure that silverleaf was just the thing to help Mariealla. She shot a glance at the sky. Maybe she could even be back home before dark at this rate! "Great-! Where?!" She was ready to take directions and run. "Uh-let me take you; it's easier then explaining..." She stared at him. She guessed it wouldn't hurt anything. "Oh-okay-thanks..." The male was acting almost bearable now; the jerkish things all but forgotten.
"Okay-it's this way..." Roshan murmured as he took a sniff at the air, obviously trying to imagine the scent of the herb, before he began to trot to the west. She fell into step about a foot behind him. She began to get curious about this other fiero and she gave a humming noise. "How is your pack?" She asked. He already knew her's; it was only fair and she had an idea he wasn't discussing them all yet.

"My pack?" He repeated slowly. He was really trying to remember where the rumored silverleaf was supposed to be. He didn't want to disappoint Shasta; she'd been so happy to hear about it. "Well, I live with my mom, Kaleb and Kaleb's daughter Butterscotch. My dad lives with his own alpha with my brother Comet..." She seemed to give a smile with that. "Sounds nice..." "My alpha spent a ton of time training my mom, but she said she's going to try training me...What about you?" He tilted his head as he looked for certain "landmarks" in the surrounding area. "My alpha hasn't done anything like that with me yet...We just kind of spend the day together at home..." He continued to lead her along, sure he knew where he was going. ~~~~~~ "Roshan, it's getting dark...How much further is the silverleaf?" Her voice was becoming worried and strained. "I-should be around here..." There was the big rock that looked like an owl if you tilted your head...the tree with scruffy branches...Where in the world was that stuff anyway?

They'd already been past this spot. She was sure of it. Just when she thought he had found an easy fix, this male seemed even more mixed up than she'd been. She looked up, seeing no stars forming in the dimming light. Even if she left for home, she wouldn't be able to see that far in front of her.
"I-I swear it was here-but now I'm not sure-" "What-Did you just say you're not sure?" She looked at him, her eyes narrowing. She was wasting time wandering around with this incompetent male while Rei stayed at home with Mariella. She had told him she'd be back before night fall. "No, no, I didn't I just-might have taken a wrong turn somewhere-" She scoffed and shook her head. "I guess I'll have to find it on my own later...." She sighed as she had to admit defeat. "There's a cave; better stay in there for the night..."

Roshan had bent his head to stare at the small hole he was unconsciously digging with his right claws. He sort of hated disappointing people. It was awful to hear her be angry again afer being so happy and optimistic. He looked up at her words, seeing the cave she was motioning toward. It was a narrow entrance to a larger cavern inside, carved into one of the ledges surrounding this area. "Alright..." He murmured. It looked pretty nice actually. His paws were tired.
She tucked down her scaled wings and entered the cave first, going down the sloping entrance into the cave. She promptly found a spot against one of the walls, away from the entrance and settled down her head onto her paws, facing the opposite wall from the entrance. He watched her with a tilt of the head and sighed. Obviously she wanted nothing to do with him from now on. He laid down away from her, as she'd probably want that, looking out into the darkening night. After a few moments he was almost asleep, before a question woke him from his daze.

"What happens if your alpha leaves? I mean, if an alpha just up and left his or her fieros...What would happen?" This question left her brain; if only because she had Roshan to bounce it off of now. She hadn't wanted to express her worries with Rei; he was already concerned enough. "I...I don't know." He sounded thoughtful as he shook his head, obviously shaking the dream dust from his eyes. "I know my mom had heard about a fiero that changed alphas...It took him a while to adjust to her, but...I think he's fine now..."
She turned her head to look at him sideways. "Oh..." She sighed. "How do you think a fiero would get a new one, if something actually happened to them?" He seemed to pause as if he wasn't sure and then sighed. "Shasta, I don't think your alpha is that badly sick..." He whispered, seeming to be delicate with the situation. "Do you think a pack could manage to stay together if they had to find a new alpha?" She pressed on, her tail pressed against her side, almost ignoring his comment.
