It was kind of funny, this feeling inside. Vera knew she had felt it once before, long before those dragons attacked her, her pack, and all the other neighboring packs out there. It was a feeling she experienced when training with her alpha, with going out with her to explore and catch pets to bring home. She hadn't felt so good in a long time. And yet, she couldn't shake the feeling that perhaps she wasn't supposed to feel happiness again at all. What if the others affected by this mess are unable to find happiness ever again? Why should she feel good, when they know longer know what it is? Vera sighed as she slowly laid down next to a creek that separated her pack's territory with another neighboring pack's territory. She didn't know how to feel now, or how to even begin to understand how she felt. (Word Count: 157) (Level 37) (Post 1, Vera)

Ah, such a beautiful day it was. The sun was shining, the breeze wonderful, and the delicious sound and smell of prey everywhere. Today was a good day for a walk, Zephyr thought to himself as he walked out of his pack's enormous den. Every day was different to him. There was absolutely nothing in his life that was ever the same, and he liked keeping it like that. If he found himself slipping into routines, with the exception of the one he had with visiting his family, he would find something to help differentiate it from any other day. What could he do today though? Part of him was starting to think that he was beginning to run out of things to do to make every day feel new and exciting. Hm... Perhaps maybe he should go down to one of the territory borders? He could likely visit his daughter too if he wanted. (Word Count: 164) (Level 40 3/5) (Post 2, Zephyr)

Vera rolled over onto her back before she flopped back down onto her other side. Then she sighed again, letting her tongue unravel and dip into the cold, flowing water of the creek. The day itself was not unpleasant. The air was warm and dry, not blistering hot or humid at all. The breezes that swept through ever now and then were nice too, especially for when it grew too hot. The water was nice and cold, perfect for drinking whenever she was thirsty.
And yet, she couldn't shake this feeling of dread and guilt. She enjoyed having a good time, she really had. And yet, she felt miserable at some point afterward, as if she was no longer allowed to have a good time like she used to. Too much had happened; dragons taking over the minds of her kind and turning them against others who had managed to escape them, and the pups... The pups were forced away from their alphas. How could she have a good time with all that?

Yeah, that would probably be a good idea. Zephyr loved his daughter. Even though her mother was not yet a part of his harem, they were still family to him, and he would do anything for them like he would for any other member of his wonderful family. Family was the most important thing, after all, and nothing should have to ever get in the way of that.
However, just as Zephyr started getting closed to the border between his home territory and his daughter's pack territory, he caught a whiff of something. Or perhaps maybe, someone, as this particular scent was coming from a Fiero. This particular scent was coming from a female, and oddly enough, this female smelled very familiar to him, and it was not his daughter or her mother.
He finally came up to the creek, and there he saw the enormous female that he had fought twice in the past.

Vera's ears shot up when she heard the shrubbery rustling on the other side of the creek. She could not smell, so the sound came out of nowhere. She looked up to see the elegant figure of a vulpine male Fiero, with long pointed ears, a long snout, and nine elegantly flowing tails behind him.
She had seen him before; she was sure on that detail. Even though she was not too clear on what exactly happened between her and him, she could tell from the wounds they had both received were from fighting with him, and he and his alpha were the ones she had entrusted to bring the pups back to their respective alphas. Although she had the feeling that he knew more about her than she did him, and that was one of the few feelings she had that she could actually believe.
Eventually she stood up, tail held high now, as this was someone who seemed to have intentions on coming into her pack's territory. "Who are you?" she said now.

Zephyr nearly faltered under the female's astonishing height compared to his own, and her harsh, raspy voice demanding who he was, but he held his ground, since there was still the creek border between them, and he was technically still within his territory boundaries. However, he kept his social cues to a more respectful appearance, his tails held not too high but not too low, and his ears only semi laid back. He did not want to give the female any reason to see him as a threat.
But, as he opened his mouth to reply to her, he realized that he could not. What did she mean, "who was he"? Shouldn't she know who he was? Fieros could smell-- oh. Then he came to an understanding: she had no nose. She couldn't smell anything, and that was likely why she had no idea who he was. Oh boy, this was going to be a little more difficult than he had initially planned.

Vera laid her ears back a little bit when she noticed the beautifully handsome male falter a bit on his side of the border, in addition to fumbling around for an answer. This was typical behavior of most who try to interact with her; first they were intimidated by her immense size, and then they fumbled around with trying to describe their identities to her. Yes, it was very typical, and it no longer really surprised her.
Perhaps it might have been more polite to introduce herself first, but what good would that do to a Fiero who could figure out who she was by just using their noses? With all this in mind, she waited patiently for his response. She knew it would likely take awhile, but if his alpha already explained his name to him, then surely he would be able to figure out something, a title or something that she could shorten or whatever.

Zephyr cocked an ear to the side now, trying to think of what his alpha told him about his name, anything at all that could be something to translate into something understandable. Hm... This should should likely work!
"Uh... I..." Or maybe not. He had never spoken this way before, never did he have to give himself some sort of title to introduce himself. He never had a need to, with all the other Fieros out there who knew who he was just by his scent. Scent. That was how Fieros communicated with him, and how he communicated with others.
"Hm... Um.... I am.. I am the Wind, a light, gentle breeze," Zephyr stammered a bit, feeling very much embarrassed at what he had just spat out. He hoped that his answer would be satisfactory for the black female. He could only hope for the best.

"Wind and gentle breezes, huh?" Vera could not help but grin a bit and chuckle at that, and what a toothy yet horrifying grin it was, even though it was not her intention at all to look frightening. "I think I will just call you Breezy then. It's not too long, it gets the message across, and it's easy to remember."
Even with the formalities out of the way, Vera did not drop her dominating stance from where she was on her side of the creek. She still needed to verify where exactly this male haled from and what his purpose was here. But at least she knew his name, or at least some translation of his name. Either way, she knew his name.
"So, Breezy, where did you come from and what are you doing here?" she asked. "Even though we've met before, I've never seen you around these parts."

Uh... Sure, okay then, Zephyr thought to himself as the female began calling him by this new identity she had created for him out of the things he had described his alpha- given name as. That was definitely going to take some getting used to, but at least that awkward situation was over.
But now the female was speaking to him again in that same, raspy voice that she had. If he didn't know any better, he would say that it sounded like something was blocking her throat, but who was he kidding? The female had a tongue that might as well have come from a moth or something had it not had an eye attached to it!
"Um, well, this is one of the borders of my pack's territory," Zephyr said, pawing at his side of the creek. "I was just going to pass through for a bit and maybe stop by and pay my daughter a visit."

"Your daughter?" Vera repeated in question as she cocked an ear to the side in thought. Breezy here had a daughter in her pack? Huh, that was new. She knew that there were at least two pups who were born in her pack since that... blasted event happened where she was absent most of the time, but she never thought one of the fathers actually came up to visit.
Now that she looked at him more, Breezy did seem to remind her of one of the younger members of her pack... Hm.... Yeah, he was probably her father.
"So, you're the father of that little twin-tailed female with the big ears, eh?" Vera said, lifting her ear back up to its original height. "Now that I think about it, you do fit the description Blackcloud gave me. If that's the only reason for why you're here then, I guess you can follow me."

"Uh, yes, of course," Zephyr said as he quickly trudged through the creek to meet the female on the other side, and even though he was very familiar with just how tall the female was compared to him, it still startled him a bit to see just how big she was. Most of the females he met were pretty big, yes, but this one was colossal.
As the female turned and began walking away from the creek, Zephyr followed beside her, a little bit behind. He couldn't help but admire her in a way; there was so much she likely had trouble doing with the lack of a nose, and the fact that she had to deal with quite a bit of the war between them and the Dragon, and yet in spite of all that, she seemed to keep her cool about it. He liked that.

Yesterday was pretty uneventful for Vera for the most part. She escorted the handsome male to the den, left him there with his daughter and her mother, and then she went off to be with herself for pretty much the rest of the day. The male must have noticed her absence, since later on he found her again, and even though he could pretty much leave whenever he wanted, he had felt like coming to find her to escort him to the border again.
It likely should have annoyed her, but he had been so nice and apologetic about it, that Vera felt that it would be almost too cruel to be like that to him, and so she had escorted him to the border.
Now today she was sitting by that exact same creek that was the border between the two territories, waiting for that male to show up again.

Zephyr trotted down the same path he took all the time to get to the border of his territory that led into his daughter's pack's territory, and ultimately of that female's territory. Yes, he was going down to meet her this time, rather than his daughter.
It was kind of exciting, he thought to himself, to get the chance to actually converse with her, even though she was sort of hard to understand and still a bit to get used to. She seemed... lonely last night, and he wanted to understand why, when she had looked so much better before, or why she did not socialize with them. Fieros were social creatures, were they not?
At last, he finally came to the bordering creek, and on the other side the female was sitting there, waiting for him. He smiled faintly before he came over to her and crossed the creek to meet her.

Vera looked up when she had heard the familiar sounds of rustling, and from her heat sensor she could tell that it was the male already. She watched as he crossed over the border to come meet her more face to face, and she didn't even make a move against it. The common, Blackcloud, had assured her that the male had been over many times before, and that he was too much of a gentleman to do any harm.
"So, what is it that you wanted to talk about that couldn't have been said yesterday?" Vera asked as she stood up, turned to face the male, and sat back down. "Why did you wait until the sun rose again?"
Yes, why did he want to speak with her again? Most males usually try to avoid her, especially that one that sort of looked like Breezy here but more... like an idiot.
