Alloysius scoffed lightly as the sun seemed to be blazing all the more harder. Seasons seemed to be somewhat sporadic here, like living in temperate forests. He peeled the thin trenchcoat off, the black material having been absorbing the increasing heat. Okay they had done a lot that day, maybe they could head home for now. He went around collecting the balls scattered in the clearing. "Hedley, how about we go home a while huh?"
Hedley flicked his ears, now feeling the heat dragging his fur down. He panted lightly and nodded. A break would be rather nice-they'd been pretty productive that day. He watched his leader before he grabbed the stick with the chunk out of it and trotted after him as they walked back down the path toward their house. On the way home he stopped for a moment at a river and drank some water before going on his way.

"So it's almost over-?" Alloysius asked as the two friends ate the berries that Salki had found on a walk. "Yes- my friend Dragon, she went to battle a pocessed fiero and she ended up battling this huge dragon! It actually /spoke/ to her, in english and everything!" The younger girl was buzzed, as if she was describing the latest episode of a complex TV show, instead of detailing advances in a real life conflict. "It beat her fiero, Vera and took her back...But we are very close to getting them all back and-" She coughed suddenly in a little fit, a few of the berries she had been eating flying out of her mouth.
They hit the floor, where Hedley was more then willing to clean up at his spot under the table. Rompecombezas stared at the male's dumb luck; just cause he could fit under the table...
Salki fought to clear her throat as the dark haired guy scoffed at her, a teasing smirk passing his face. "Calm down before you choke yourself..." She finally caught herself and shook her head, forcing herself to slow down. "The point is we're almost done with this...I think you should train Hedley some more." Alloy stared at her. "Huh-?" He shook his head a little. "Salki, you've got Bezzy, and this Dragon person apparently has powerful fieros too. Hedley wouldn't make more than a dent in this giant dragon..." The girl shook her head vehemently. "No, no, no! Any little bit can help out! People have...become inactive..." She murmured, a pout crossing her face. Alloy stared at her and sighed. "I'm not gonna convince you otherwise am I?" Salki grinned widely, shaking her head. "Nope..."
And that was how the group of four, two humans and two fieros ended up walking to Hedley and Alloy's training area. (309)

For some reason it had felt like a long time since they had been here, when it had only been a few days. Alloy sighed as he let his hand run along Hedley's neck as they walked along. Maybe Salki half-forcing them to train was the kick in the ass he needed.
Bezzy wasn't quite sure why they were going to a different area, or even why she and her alpha were not alone as they set out this day. She looked toward the creamy colored male that was walking along his alpha, letting a smile spread across her muzzle. The fiero was rather shy but he seemed alright.
"Ready to do this-?" Salki asked, sure that with the two of them there neither would be tempted to give up training. "I was born ready..." Alloy smirked. "I'll go over here then..." Salki said as she walked over to the side where there was a region of space.
Salki looked toward Bezzy. Even though she had been focused on getting Alloy to train she wasn't sure what she'd do with Bezzy. She wanted to keep with tricks, she knew but what...The last two things she had taught her had been come and stay...Follow could be nice. The medium between the two. "Alright Bezzy...The new trick we'll be learning is follow...Which is what you're doing right now. Should be easy as pie..."
Alloy had decided it was good to teach Alloy a lot of attacks, it's true, but he also needed to learn some of the basic tricks as well. It could also help their relationship as alpha and fiero.
Hedley wagged his tail, being in a rather optimistic mood this day. Training brought him a level of fulfillment. However, Alloy had not brought anything along today. He wasn't sure how they would do attacks without targets. Finally they reached their section of the training meadow, their scents firmly there and not being whisked away by the wind. "Mmkay Hedley," Alloy murmured as he stepped away from him, crossing his arms but speaking lightly. "We're gonna try something new...Stay."
Hedley tilted his head-/what/?

Salki turned about abruptly, the spotted fiero almost in turn coliding into her alpha. She stepped back quickly though, tilting her head, ears pricked up at attention, eager to learn this new command.
After Bezzy learned this new trick, Salki would be able to trust her enough to dare taking her along to journey out in the more remote areas of this land; and she was suitably excited about that. The girl had always pocessed a fascination and adventorous nature concerning the forests near her home back on Earth. She was doubly excited to share such a exploration with her 'right hand' fiero-but what if something happened on such an excursion? What if they got seperated? There weren't exactly any policemen to help her find a lost fiero out here. No; that wouldn't happen. Not after Bezzy learned follow.
The fiero watched as Salki began to make wild gestures in front of her, obviously trying to explain. "Follow is when you stay behind me, when we walk...We stay together. Like this is you-" She held up one hand. "And this is me." She held up her other. "And you follow me..." She concluded. holding her hands very closely together. "See?"
While those two were going on, Hedley was still staring at his own alpha. Stay? What was this stay...? He just stared back at him for a moment or so before chuckling oddly. "You're doing pretty good at it now, while you realize or not...Just hold on." The fiero's face went even more confused as Alloy stepped back away from him.
Alloy kept a hand out in front of him, trying to give the impression that he didn't want him to follow him. This felt odd; but Salki had told him of her method in teaching Bezzy these tricks and he figured he could do something similiar for Hedley.

Hedley looked up toward him, really and truly stumped. It was obvious this had to do with this new charge 'stay' but he couldn't figure out what he couldn't figure out what he was supposed to do. "Yeah-just stay..." Alloy said, derailing his train of thought in it's track. Hesitantly he moved toward his alpha, plainly showing he didn't understand. He gave his tail a slow wag, questioningly.
Alloy watched as he now did the exact opposite of what he was aiming for. He shook his head, careful to not relate any negative connotations with the trick. "That's not right Hedley boy..." The cat-like fiero blinked at him and Alloy lead him backwards to his starting point within a few quick strides. "But it's okay-we'll just try again. This time, just stay put..." Once again the bright eyed man stepped back from him, hands out as if he was directing traffic. "Stay-just like the rock over there...It doesn't move...Be like that rock."
While Alloy was apparently teaching his fiero to 'be the rock', Salki was concluding her explanation to Bezzy. "Let's try it now..." She said as the fiero seemed to be relaxing. "Follow girl..." She began to walk, slowly away. She turned to check what Bezzy was doing and she was just staring after her, tilting her head. "Come on...Follow me...." She repeated and the fiero seemed still confused and remained static. She would have to resort to more basic prompts...
Slowly Salki reached into her pocket and Bezzy took instant notice of what she came up with; it was a strip of jerky, easily one of her favorite treats. Her stomach rumbled with the sight; they had left the house early to get Salki's friend's lazy butt out of bed so they had skipped breakfast.

She began to walk toward her to receive that prize, only to have Salki turn away from her suddenly.
Hedley stared at Alloy in a funny way. One could easily think that he was losing his senses with the way he was holding his arms. This was starting to feel like an odd game of charades that he didn't know the answer to. Hedley almost fell over at the next remark. Be like that rock?!
Salki smiled to herself; the ploy was working so far. She slipped the jerky behind her back so that Bezzy could still see it as she continued to walk and soon she picked up the telltale noise of the fiero's four paws crunching through the dry leaves littering the ground in time with her own two shoes. /Now/ she was following her, pretty closely too. Salki looked over her shoulder, beaming as she started "Bezzy, you-"
Only she was cut off by a sudden 'thump!' sound nearby. Both fiero and girl flicked their heads over to see Hedley collapsed on the ground with a comically expressionless look on his face. Indeed the fiero had gone with the route to humor his alpha; he was kinda curled into a shape like the rock too. Not that Salki knew this, but she instantly burst out laughing. "Oh hey Alloy, how's your training going?" She tried to suppress her giggles though somewhat unsuccessful.
Alloy took a moment or so to understand his fiero's logic in the actions. He looked up, growling slightly at the girl's laughing. "Why, superdy duper, thank you for asking-!" Salki was able to recompose herself under the older teenager's glance and tilted her head. "No seriously how are you guys doing?" Bezzy had tried to inch forward toward her so she held it closer to her until they would continue. He sighed. "Hedley's not really understanding, I think..."

"Hm-maybe you should try something different...How do babies learn to start walking?" Alloy was now the one to be really confused. What was this, some ancient chinese riddle...? He sighed, his head beginning to hurt as he thought. "I dunno...You tell me, Salki.."He said, an eyebrow raised.
A gleeful smile creeped across the girl's face. "By watching their parents or siblings, of course...Simple imitation." Salki slipped the jerky back into her pocket, looking back to her fiero again. "Stay girl." She said, glancing to Hedley to be sure he was watching before he turned from her and walked away a few yards.
Bezzy murmured a soft whiny growl as the treat was put away. However, like a true professional, she did as she was told, staying put on the spot. She noticed the cream male watching them and tilted her head as she saw a sort of new clearness in his eyes, a sudden understanding.
Hedley had looked toward the pair, having been directed to by Alloy's snapping fingers and a quick "Look there". His soft rose inlaid ears perked forward toward the girl as he heard the word that his alpha had been saying for the past few moments. He tilted his head, watching the spottled fiero as she stood there as her alpha walked away. Was that what Alloy wanted him to do-?
"Now try..." his friend said with a smile as she directed her fiero's attention back to what they had been doing. Alloy could feel a face-palm coming on; why hadn't he thought of that-? He looked back to Hedley who was looking up at him now. "Okay...Let's give it a go. Stay." He said and began to walk away again.
Salki pulled out the jerky again, gaining Bezzy's attention once more.

She slipped it behind her back once more and the fiero began to trail after her again. She stopped and turned to her, a very instructive voice coming from her lips. "Bezzy-you're following me now...That's what follow means...Understand?" She coulda swore the fiero nodded at her and she walked a little away again, the treat back in place. The fiero followed and finally she gave her the jerky, watching her and waiting till she was done.
Bezzy caught it in her mouth and happily munched it down, finally licking her muzzle. She looked up as she licked a paw off, seeing as Salki was looking at her expectently. Without a word, the girl turned around again, her hand behind her back-this time jerkyless, and began to walk. Bezzy founds herself following her, as if a rope was tied around her neck staying right behind the girl. She even went so far as to walk around a tree in a bizarre way but still she followed, and she could see her alpha becoming more pleased. She didn't even notice when Salki no longer had her hand behind her, she was having too much fun chasing after her as she began to run instead of walk. "Come on girl-!"
Hedley was astonished that he was being trained to do such a simple thing. He wished that Alloy could have told him in fiero language but he quickly got over it, obeying the command now. He stood, watching as Alloy looked back at him. He looked impressed before he began to walk even farther away. "Keep Staying there Hedley!" He called over his shoulder. It felt inexplicably odd to be just standing there while his alpha wandered away, instead of walking right at his side as he usually did. Still, he stayed.

Bezzy and her alpha were soon running in a way that felt very natural. It was as if they were a pack running after a herd of deer instead of just a human and fiero running in a training meadow. Soon they both stopped, both panting but feeling good.
Hedley glanced to the two running around like maniacs. He couldn't help but feel a little jumpy as he wondered how far his own alpha was going to go away from him.
Finally Alloy walked back, seeing that Hedley had actually stayed right where he left him. He watched as the fiero's tail began to wag, obviously showing he was happy to see him return. "Good boy, I knew you'd get it!" He was mostly oblivious to the other pair when Hedley bounced up on his hind legs, leaning up against his alpha barely reaching his chin.
Salki had finally regained her breath as she walked over to them, Bezzy still taking a break. "Looks like you guys are gettling along well...." She smiled. "Yeah-your imitation idea worked actually..." "You're welcome." She grinned, seeing the bit of a dirty look that Alloy gave her. "Now, I think I better set back and see how the battles are going....Maybe we can chew off a piece of that dragon!" She grinned even more, eyes flaring. Alloy nodded. "If you do, we'll be right behind you."
"Come on girl-follow!" Salki sang out lightly as her fiero lept to her heels and followed her away from the meadow.
Hedley looked to his alpha after he watched them leave, wondering what they would be doing next. Hopefully it'd be something easy. He suddenly felt a sense of urgency, but he had no clue why and he could tell that the female that left could feel it too.
