This world that Wolf had scoped out and was readily bringing some fieros and new people to had, of course, a history and people who had been there long before. One of these peoples were demons of certain creeds.
One of these demons were now just crawling out of her den with a yawn. Her orange pointed ears flicked around as she blinked in the soft sunlight of late morning. She stretched like a lazy cat, hearing a rather satisfied crack before she bounced to her feet sleekly.
A confused look crossed her face as she looked back into her den. She had woken up earlier that morning hadn't she? Yes! She and Marzy were going to get some breakfast but she'd been having the hardest time waking up...She sighed. Marzy had obviously let her fall asleep. Sometimes he acted more like a parent then like a friend!
She looked around. Well, he'd probably be back any minute. With a flick of her tail she jumped at the nearest tree and scrabbled up it's bark, setting herself into a crook where the branches separated. She just loved how it felt...to be high above the ground and in the nice shade where you could feel the wind without the sun's might.

"HUUUUUUUUUURGH-!"
Oh, to heck with it all. It was stupid. Everything was stupid. Stupid.
Chess sat down on the mossy ground, and shot up again, wiping the damp mud from the seat of his jeans. He was pretty much about to flip out at this point. The first few nights in this new world were somewhat bearable as soon as he got over the initial shock and disappointment, but after about a week of sleeping on the lumpy ground with the dampness seeping through the fabric of his sleeping bag, he'd grown quickly tired of life in the wild.
Still picking tangled bits of twigs and moss out of his hair from the night prior, he continued wandering the woods, alone. He'd recently visited Wolf to request his first fiero pup, but he'd been informed that it would take a day or two for the creature to arrive.
Instead, Wolf had recommended that the young boy take this time alone to travel and become accustomed to the landscape, maybe even scope out a piece of land so he could establish his knew home. He didn't exactly count on the entirety of this world to consist of stupid lumpy nature-filled forests, though. Well, he wasn't certain of that, really. Truth was he probably hadn't gone more than a couple of miles before he started wandering in circles in this big, confusing forest. What was even worse was the fact that he'd be there for a while yet, for he was completely lost by now.
Completely, utterly, hopeless. And annoyed.
In another small fit of anger, Chess reached down, picked up a decent-sized rock, and lobbed it at the nearest tree as hard as he could, paying no attention to the fact that this certain tree was also currently occupied. He let out another frustrated grunt before yelling-
"IHATEBIGSTUPIDTREESANDWOODSANDANIMALSANDIJUSTWANNAGOHOME!"

Shika's ears flicked at a sudden sound breaking the silence. Well it wasn't really silent-it never was in the forest, there were always chittering and chirping and scuffling....Anyways-it was some sort of cry-maybe some animal-which sounded aggravated and at the end of it's rope. She was a little wary-people who were angry weren't the nicest people ever and sometimes they were downright nasty. However she was able to gage that the creature was a fair distance away, so she wasn't too concerned. As long as it stayed away, it could be annoyed as it so wanted and her curiosity for once didn't want to follow the noise, just so she'd know what it was.
So she stayed in her comfy spot and pondered a little. As usual pondering and nice weather led to sleep. She was just falling into her tired state when suddenly a stark vibration of the tree made her tail frizz out. She would have probably tumbled out of the tree if she hadn't had her hands on the branch under her and her claws hadn't instintively dug themselves into the wood. Then if that wasn't bad enough there was someone yelling in a huge splurt of words. She looked down to see who in the world it was-and blinked a few times. It was a human about her age-Or was it? She sniffed. He smelled like the moths that sometimes bugged her at night by the fire. But he was also human. How strange.
More then his appearance, she was caught by the frustration in the last part of his yelling. Something about not being able to find his way home if he was lost-that tugged some part of her unconsciously. Without really thinking she slipped off the crook and swooped down, landing on the ground agilely. "Uh-hello?" She asked as she looked toward him, smiling. "You sound like you need some help...?"

After a somewhat idiotic display of his discontempt, Chess was now standing with his back to the tree and his hands on his hips. Okay, so, he really wasn't getting anywhere. And getting mad really wasn't helping, (Though it did kinda feel good to let his anger out on the local vegetation.) What he needed was careful planning.
What was the most obvious thing to do when lost in the woods? Probably looking for landmarks or something. He didn't know. It's not like he'd ever had to think about this stuff before. So, what was it people usually did? Retrace their steps? Yeah, that sounded right. Maybe he should try that? Well, no- it's not like he even knew which direction he came from, much less what path he took. After a while the scenery basically started to blur.
Ohgod, this was awful. By the time he even figured out how to get out of this place, Wolf may have probably given his pup away to somebody else. Somebody a little less lost-ish, and a little more nature-friendly. (Well, she probably wouldn't. But he was on a roll here. Poor, pitiful little Chessy-Wessy all alone in the big stupid world.)
Chess, you gotta calm down and concentrate. He told himself. Uh.. uh, try... breathing? Yes. A simple breathing exercise. In, out, in-
"Uh-hello?"
Letting out a high pitched squeak, Chess pitched forward, landing on the ground heavily. He quickly flopped over to face whoever was greeting him, before letting out another squeal and scooching away quickly, still on his hands and feet.
A girl? A girl in the middle of the woods? Well, not completely- she was somewhat wild-looking, with tanned skin and strikingly orange hair, not to mention her more feline characteristics. He'd seen quite a few other odd looking people so far, so he realized that there was really nothing for him to get so worked up about. Though perhaps it was just the sudden entrance. And those... uh, claws.
It was then a sudden thought occurred to the moth boy. His expression immediately brightened, and his antennae twitched happily.
"Hey! HEY~! You're a person, right?" (A silly question, obviously. But he didn't seem to realize this.) Chess scrambled to his feet, sticking out his hand to shake hers. "It's so good to see somebody else out here, I haven't seen another person in a while. And I kinda do need help."
"My dumb pup ran off. I guess I made her angry or something, I dunno, but I had to leave my cabin and I can't find her, or my way back. So I'm, like, really lost. Do you, uh, know your way around here?"

(Following new bios from here on out xP)
'Oh Shika, you scared him!' Her mental voice was possibly underexaggerating. The fact that the boy had had a slight spassum as she had suddenly spoke said that she had definatly surprised him but then once he'd actually looked at her he had yiped again, and that told her it was more then just surprise. She saw that he seemed to be studying her from his spot on the ground then nervously coughed "Uh hey, I'm sorry I-" However his sudden change in expression stopped her apology in process.
She nodded slightly at the rather odd question-it should be obvious she was a person, standing on two legs and talking and all that!-. She smiled lightly as he got up and she shook his hand, making sure to retract her claws first-she had no real control but sometimes they did follow what she wanted. "Oh you're lost-your pup too??"
she tilted her head at the name. Wolf? Oh-Salki's friend.
"Actually I-" She laughed slightly as she got distracted from telling him what she was going to. He was kinda funny in a good way. "Nice to meet you...My name's Shika. Oh yeah I kinda know my way around the forest pretty well, so eventually I'm sure I could help you..." She smiled confidently. Plus the idea of the pup out here in the wilderness made her tail twitch. (231 words)

"Ohmygod, thank you. I was beginning to think it was all kinda hopeless." Chess replied sheepishly. He felt insanely stupid. Who in their right mind would go wandering through the woods without a plan in the first place? "Anyway, it's nice to meet you Shika, I'm Che- wait, I already said that, didn't I? Whoops." So awkward.
Chess looked thoughtful for a moment, as if considering something. He decided that to avoid any more mishaps, he should start using careful planning from now on. Especially wandering in a completely new world. Things could get complicated.
"So, uh, I guess the obvious thing to do is look for the pup first?" He concluded aloud, half-asking Shika for her opinion. "I mean, I guess she can kinda take care of herself until we find her. She's... strong willed." In his head, he thought- But... still a puppy.
Izzy, as he'd said, was definitely stubborn. And if she didn't want to be found, that would only make it all the more difficult to find her. She'd probably found some kinda hiding place or something by now. Of course, pretty soon she'd get tired and want to go home, only to find herself lost- just like Chess. Despite their clashing personalities, perhaps the two were more alike than the boy first believed. Somehow Chess didn't like the thought of that. Oh well.
"So- shall we get going?" He finally said, his wings fluttering slightly.

She laughed lightly. "Yeah...you kinda did." She smiled at him to show she wasn't making fun of him. "Nice to meet you too by the way."
She tilted her head and flicked her tail as she thought about it. "Mrrr...We should look for your pup first. I mean, if we got you to where you wanna go, we'd only have to turn back around to look for her right? Plus who know what kind of trouble a little pup can get into on her own-cause I'm just guessing based on your tone that she's got some stubbornness in her." Wow just saying that made her think of herself and she shook her head lightly. "So yeah I kinda think it'd be better to go look for her first...Yeah let's go!" She said suddenly looking like she got a spring in her step as she began to wander away, fully suspecting him to just follow.

Shika was definitely right. There was no point in going back now. The only thing to do was definitely find Isabelle.
And though Chess didn't wanna admit it, he was also pretty worried. Izzy was his first pup. And if he lost her, he'd pretty much be proving to himself, not to mention everyone else, that he wasn't fit to take care of fieros. He could never allow himself to try to raise another one. He might as well just go home- back to earth- right now.
He inwardly shook his head at himself. No, that wouldn't happen. They'd find her.
He was happy to have found somebody so eager to help, though. Plus, having a guide to help him around this confusing labyrinth of trees was a big plus. He couldn't understand how anyone would want to live in here, but she seemed to enjoy it plenty. "Alright," he replied. "Just don't go so fast, I don't wanna get lost again!"
Thus, Chess began to follow closely behind Shika, trying to take in as much of the scenery as he could. Okay, these woods weren't all that bad. He noted the different plant life as the two walked. The trees here were towering and enormous- through their leaves and needles, he saw that the sky was unnaturally blue today. From what he could tell there wasn't a cloud anywhere. Still, most of the landscape was rather damp with dew. They even passed a few flowering plants and ferns, making the place seem all the more graceful. Chess decided that if he set up a small cabin, somewhere close enough to the edge of the woods to make traveling from place to place easier, the area could even be considered livable. He pondered on this for a bit. There was definitely quite a bit of wildlife around.
This fact suddenly reminded of something he'd been meaning to ask Shika.
"Hey, wait. Do you have a fiero too? I mean, you kinda seem like the type to own a pet, I guess." Pet. That really didn't seem the word for a fiero, but it was the only thing he could think of. Still, he wished that word hadn't slipped out.

"I won't!" She laughed slightly as she looked around. Even though she had lived in these particular woods for a short while only, she knew how to keep her head while navigating them. She had already paced around the various paths before, taking different trails. There had to be some surprises hidden in this world, aside from the strange effect it had on most people who came here...Plus she was writing notes notes with a notebook she had. Maybe it would have been a good idea to bring that along-nah. She was fine, this would be the perfect time to test herself, besides that. She sniffed, a spring-like scent hanging about. Ferns or something. She loved the natural simpleness of the forest-actually it wasn't really simple...If you stopped and took a look around, you'd see every living thing acting together to make the landscape-everything from a rabbit eating clovers to a praying mantis turning it head interested her. She was probably the only person who could be truely entertained by seeing grass grow from one day to another.
Matter of fact right at this moment, she was half-watching a small oddly colored bird fixing what looked to be a nest. Absentmindedly she had been trying to figure out what kind it was. It looked like a macaw parrot had had a few paint buckets thrown over it...
"Huh?" She looked over her shoulder at him then her ears perked at the question. For a moment she looked down. She hadn't ever truly had a pet. She remembered a cat that had been at one of the foster homes for a moment-but it had seemed to hate her, always trying to scratch her as she walked down the halls. She thought of some of the animals she had interacted with. They were more like companions to her. She smiled sheepishly as she looked at him again. "No, not yet...I really want one though. I mean, my friend has one already though and she's so adorable...I'm kinda waiting for the perfect one to come along. I know she said I could have a lot-but I'm not sure how many I could handle." She laughed quietly-she had been just mumbling on. Why was she boring this guy with stuff like that? She looked at him suddenly with a more curious look and she let loose with a sudden little train of questions. "What's your pup's name? What does she look like? How'd you meet her?"
