The world through the eyes of a child is often viewed as the only true Utopia in the whole of reality. The world is seen as a fair, beautiful place, and the good in every person's soul shines brightly and as clearly as the daylight sun. One is ignorant to heartbreak, worry, and the knowledge that some people can and will hurt you, if given the chance to. Saphira had long ago lost this Utopian perspective, but her companion, the small, young pup Ptolemy, was still living in this pleasant bubble world. The meadow they now walked in was small and was bordered by forest on three sides. A small stream could be heard off to the fourth side, but it was out of sight still. The meadow itself was covered in hundreds, possibly thousands of dandelions, their fluffy heads swaying gently in the breeze. Ptolemy's ears perked up in interest, and he crouched down, as if to hide from one dandelion in particular. Then he sprang forth and closed his mouth around the flower's head and looked up at Saphira with wide, curious eyes. A second later, his nose twitched, his face scrunched up, and he sneezed out dozens of little fluffy seeds that floated away in the wind. The pup looked after them and gave a little whimper of loss. He seemed to not have intended to lose his catch. ((Ptolemy- 1.0 ))

Saphira chuckled at Ptolemy's antics and sat down amongst the grasses. "I'm glad to see you're enjoying it out here." she smiled at the small pup as he pawed at some other dandelions. He took a moment to stare up at a passing cloud that one could say resembled a butterfly, but another could just as easily assert that it resembled a whale.
Well, whatever you thought it was, Ptolemy let out a chirping sound that seemed full of curiosity at the white giant in the azure sky. Saphira liked to pretend she understood him. Even though she knew she was kidding herself about it- he may be able to understand her, but she could never know what his thoughts and words were in actuality. But she took his body language to mean that he was saying something along the lines of "What is that?" . "It's a cloud; water way up in the sky that will soon come to rain back down to the ground." she said to him.
Ptolemy simply turned his attention off to a flitting butterfly a second later. He could have such a short attention span sometimes, but it was admirable- he lived in the now; not in the past, nor in the future. His presence was...refreshing, in a way. It was a contagious kind of carefree.

A pup bounded over the fields that she had discovered. It was so bright and beautiful today-there were so many dandelions! She was rather fascinated and it gave her a joyful feeling of satisfaction to send the little fluffly white flecks up with each step.
"Hey come back here! Bezzy?" Salki panted as she ran after her fiero pup who's sandy colored fur seemed to bob up and down amongst the weeds that were somehow so pretty. She couldn't help but wonder at how much the move to this new land had changed the pup. In the old place, all she did was lay around and sleep, occasionally snuggling...Now she seemed to not be able to keep still! "Rompecabezas, young lady you come here!" She called out as the fiero seemed to have acquired selective hearing. Maybe that had been it-maybe now that she'd finally actually been given a name, she had gotten some energy. Of course, Salki did like to use some pretty unusual unique names. People who named their dogs "Spot" or "Rex" sort of bothered her really, the names were so generic. This pup had been given a name which meant puzzle in another language. It was because she considered the pup to be the final puzzle piece necessary in starting her new life here.
She snapped out of her thoughts as Bezzy seemed to have been distracted by a praying mantis. She stared at it as it flexed its arms and Salki saw her chance. She used a bout of energy to run and- "Gotcha!" She pounced for the pup, picking it up as she rolled in the grass. The pup let out an excited and surprised yelp as Salki ruffled her ears. "Little troublemaker, I should put you on a leash!" However her attention had been pulled elsewhere and she squirmed in her owner's arms. Salki followed her gaze and saw another person and their fiero not too far away. Her face grew a little hot-she had just probably seen that display. Her tail flicked as she laughed nervously "Ah-hello?"

Saphira turned her head over to a new comer in the meadow. The strange girl was rolling in the grass with another Fiero pup. Ptolemy let out a little bark at the other pup and scurried off in its direction.
"Hello there!" Saphira replied to the girl, smiling at Ptolemy as he stopped short of the pair and gave an attempt at a howl, which resembled a strangled squeal much more than the haunting and beautiful howl of an adult. The butterfly that Ptolemy had been stalking a mere moment ago now landed on a small rock lodged in the earth, not far from the two pups and girl. Ptolemy noticed it land, but kept his attention on the other pup. Maybe she could be his friend? He didn't have any friends yet, besides Saphira. Having another one would be good. Yeah, he silently decided, that would be very good. Maybe he could actually win if he play- wrestled her. Saphira was too big.
Saphira walked over to the newly arrived pair and held out her hand to the girl. "I'm Saphira, and this is Ptolemy," she said, gesturing with her head to the tan pup.

Salki glanced down to the other pup as he made a sound which was-to her, too adorable for words- and laughed, her tail flicking back and forth. "Hello to you too!" She said to the pup before turning her attention back to the girl with a smile at the friendly greeting. Finally she decided to give up on holding Bezzy. She doubted that she would run away with the other pup there to be of great interest.
The sandy-pelted pup bounced, more then fell to the ground. Her tail was wagging a mile a minute-Another pup! A new one, not one of her old kennelmates, either! She was estatic. Truth was she had been beginning to miss the pups at their old home-Salki was fun and all, but it didn't beat having someone else who was the same size as you and could understand you to a t. She let out a little playful bark as she got close enough to him, sniffing his scent as she crouched her upper half down to the ground, her tail high in the air.
Salki smiled at her pup's excitement, giggling a little. She got a giddy feeling out of seeing her so happy. She shook Saphira's hand lightly. "My name's Salki-and that bundle of energy there is Rompecabezas-but I'm calling her Bezzy for right now until she grows up."
