Something was getting under Hedley's pelt; something he had forgotten, he was sure of it. He had no idea what though....He paced around the house, somewhat in a daze. He huffed quietly as he tried to think. Nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary or- "Hed, what the hell's up with you?" Alloysius's voice barely broke through the cloud that seemed to surround him. He was really confused by his fiero's behavior. Hedley was usually so calm and laid-back; it really wasn't like him to do this. "Want to go outside then, before you burn a hole in the floor...?" He asked as he walked toward the door, opening it wide. He looked up and blinked at what his leader had done. What a good idea! Some fresh air would definitely clear his mind. He trotted to the door, making sure to pause and rub his side against Alloy before he went outside. (155) (15)

Kaleb stretched his body out as he walked along through the leaves that crunched under his paws. The brisk sunlight above made him warm, but the wind kept him just cool enough too. This morning, he had woken up from a strange dream. When his eyes had opened, he'd been staring up at the slightly cobweb-flecked ceiling, laying flat on his back. He still felt stiff from that position...Anyway he could hardly remember what was so weird about the dream. All he remembered was seeing large, white, feathery wings and purple, elegant swirls...What in the world could it mean? He had decided to spark up conversation with his daughter, but she wasn't sure about what it meant either. His only conclusion was that it was telling him to go find out. So here he was, just walking around, trying to see if he could find...whatever he was supposed to look for. (154) (9)

Being outside wasn't even helping him. This was all so frustrating. What in the hell was he forgetting?
"Excuse me-" A voice broke through from the trees beyond, and shortly after a male fiero with multi-colored eyes trotted forward, seeming to be somewhat excited by something. "Er-hello...?" Hedley murmured quietly, tilting his head. "That-that collar you're wearing, where'd you get it from?"
"Collar?" He looked down in confusion before realizing what he meant. "Oh-! This isn't a collar, it's just a marking...Had it since I was a pup." "Oh..." He sighed. "Why were you asking?" This younger male was strangely familiar.
Suddenly he remembered a morning, when he had woken up to find a pup sleeping against him, one who was reacting so happily to him...That had been so long ago-this male in front of him had the same face marking as he did; and tail markings- "I just-was wondering..."

Kaleb turned to leave, feeling sort of embarassed by his excitement having been deflated. "Wait-do you live with a female human? And another fiero...Bezzy, I think her name was..." He wasn't sure what to make of this. This stranger knew his pack?
"Ye-Yeah, I do..." He said, unsure by this comment. "How do you know?" The conversation paused for a moment as the other fiero seemed to be searching for the answer before he continued, "My leader's friends with your alpha..."
This didn't tell Kaleb all that much; his alpha seemed to be friends with many people, always coming home with unfamiliar and exotic scents clinging to her clothes. Any friend of Salki's was a friend of his, he supposed! He decided to not tell his new friend about the strange visions from his dreams. "You know, I was really thinking that my daughter would love a collar like that..."

Hedley stared at this; daughter? This other fiero had a daughter? He was just starting to consider the possibility that he could have been a father without realizing it all that time ago; and now he knew he was probably also a grandfather! What would he think of that? He wasn't sure how much Kaleb knew about his past anyway.
He decided he would hang out with him for a while; eliminate all doubt before he droped this bombshell on the other fiero. "I see...I hope you can find her something." He was surprised that the male took his story so readily; well...it was the truth-Alloy and Salki were friends. It wasn't the whole truth though....
"Thanks...She's lovely. She really looks like my mate." Hedley couldn't help but feel another pang in his stomach. If he was the father of this pastel-splotched male, who was the mother? He had no idea...He sure didn't have any of these bright colors.

Kaleb pawed at the dirt anxiously. It was nice to talk to a different fiero, but at the same time the dreams kept tugging at his brain. "So your pack is just you, Bezzy and your daughter?" Hedley asked, sounding curious. "Close, but no...There's Roshan too. He's Bezzy's son, except she said she has another one who lives with her mate....what about you?"
He shook his head lightly, "Wow..We should visit you all more. It's just me and my leader..." "Ah...I couldn't imagine that...I love being around so many fieros..." Kaleb hummed contentedly as he thought of his pack mates, especially Butterscotch. He looked up to see the other fiero tilting his head once more. "Uh-but if it works for you two, there's nothing wrong with that either-!" He added quickly.
"Well...I almost had a pack mate at one time, actually." He looked up and cocked an ear to the side. "Almost...?" How could one almost have a pack mate...?

"You see, it was a while ago...While the battles against the mother dragon were going on..." He saw the other fiero nod as he felt the worn scar on his back tingle with the mention of those darker times. "My leader was training me to go against the pocessed fieros...And one morning I woke up to find something pretty weird..."
"What?" Kaleb seemed on the edge of his seat as he tilted his head, as if imagining what it could have been. "There was a puppy-sleeping next to me...I had no idea where it came from, but it seemed perfectly content to be snuggled into me...My leader woke up and found it just as confusing...He wasn't sure what to do as much as I was...But we started to walk to a friend's house and he gave her this pup, because her other fiero was taken by the dragons..."
"So...A mysterious pup showed up in your house but you had no idea where it came from...? That is sorta freaky..."

"You're telling me..." Hedley said, shrugging his shoulders. "But that's not the weirdest part of the whole thing..."
"How do you mean? It gets weirder?" Kaleb was intrigued at this strange story, flicking his purple and pink tail. "Yeah...Because I kept seeing how familiar the pup was to me...He had three back markings, not stripes like mine, but hearts-He had socks like mine, with paw markings on top..and he had a tail that was pretty similiar to mine and a face marking...But all different colors..."
Kaleb stared at this and slowly his mind went through these markings; from drinking he knew his reflection, or atleast his face...He had a face marking. And he had seen two shades of blue in his eyes, along with purple and yellow....He put the dots together quietly, his jaw dropping open as he stared at Hedley. "You...You're telling me that /I/ was that pup...?"

"That's exactly what I'm saying..." Hedley sighed gently. "I think you're somehow related to me..." "Like...you're my father?" Kaleb was quicker than he acted. "Maybe..." "I actually reached out to you, because I had a dream where I saw purple swirls on silver...Like your neck marking...But how in the world would you forget that you-"
"I don't know...That's really a mystery..." He sighed. "But...I think you really turned out nicely with your alpha. I'm not sure if we would have had enough time to play with you, what with the war....Where she had an empty house and all the time in the world for you-and I would have made a shabby dad anyway; I did a lot of growing up after that...Was there anything else in your dream?" "Huge, white bird wings..." Kaleb didn't seem upset by this information, he seemed somewhat relieved even.

"Maybe my mom has that...You don't know anyone with bird's wings do you?" He was especially interested in this.
Hedley shook his head gently. "Not that I know..." He wondered if this other fiero had any idea that she had a son. All the same, Kaleb couldn't help but wonder how life would be different if he had been raised with Hedley and his leader. He couldn't blame Hedley for the way things were; he wasn't sure he had a reason to either... Kaleb was happy with his life. He knew at least and it was a load off his mind to understand what the dream had been telling him. "Do you..Do you want to go hunting or something-?"
Hedley looked somewhat surprised by this but his muzzle stretched in a plea sent smile. "Sure...That sounds nice..Never had a hunting partner before..." His black tipped tail wagged out behind him gently.
