Name:
Chess Hyles
Gender:
Male
Age:
14
Birthday:
April 23rd
Picture:
Appearance:
It's kinda hard to tell much about Chess' appearance, because the fact of the matter is, he's tiny. About the size of your average hummingbird, Chess is probably the closest example of a real-life fairy you'll ever see. Without the magic and glitter, of course.
Anyway, because he's this tiny, it's hard to make out any details about his appearance. Chess' DNA is shared with that of the white-lined sphinx moth, and perhaps a mashup of a few other insects. Thus, instead of skin, he has a dark-colored carapace. Additionally, he sports a set of grey-brown moth wings. On the back of these wings, the colors are a bit more flashy- and, like a real-world moth, he often attempts to use these colors as a distraction tactic when getting out of trouble. (He attempts this on humans and fieros as well, but it never quite works out.)
Strangely enough, his wings are also usable. Upon reaching the world of fieros, Chess was flabbergasted by his new ability to fly. But, he does have a limit- Being the worrywart that he is, he hates heights, and only ever flies at around the eye-level of a human.
Personality:
Chess is, first and foremost, fidgety and nervous. This is not a new development- he was the same way even in his old world. Upon crossing over to this one, his nervousness was probably the trait that most affected his appearance as well. Now, he has to find a way to cope with his constant worries, as well as some new ones. (Getting stepped on, for example.)
He is also, for lack of a better term, rather 'effeminate.' He hates roughhousing and dirt, and absolutely despises physical labour. Luckily, he's not expected to do much of that anymore.
When he needs to be, Chess has been known to be assertive and even a bit hard-headed. His confidence is usually short-lived, however, and dies off when he feels threatened or bested. Afterwards, he usually tries to run from his problems instead of face them. As for his attitude around fieros, all of his assertiveness is lost- he seems almost a bit scared of them.
History:
There isn't much to say here. seemingly a brainchild born somewhere in the depths of somebody's imagination, he was actually born in another world, the very same one that many others newly discovering the world of fieros came from. He was born into a loving family, but by some means or another- bullying, troubles at home, or perhaps even simply the stress of growing up- he found himself eager to leave this life behind and start one of his own on his own terms. When Winter, a friend of his, mentioned a project sending people into a whole new world that she was considering joining, Chess himself decided it would be just the thing he'd been looking for. Thus he quickly packed up and headed out, ready for a new adventure.

Likes:
- Sweets, especially sugary drinks.
- A big social life- he is happiest when he has a lot of friends.
- Good fashion (Though he can't really wear clothes himself anymore, he at least enjoys colors and designs. Not that this really comes into play when working with Fieros)
Dislikes:
- Nature. When he first arrived here, he'd expected this world to already be somewhat populated. To his despair, he soon discovered that the wilderness-to-civilization ratio was way different than he'd thought. Though he can still manage, mostly with the help of his fieros and any new friends.
- Don't tell anyone, but he's scared of the dark.
- Water
