His eyes stared at the large landmass she had lead them to. He gave a light shiver at the change of temperature as they approached. It really was amazing, the way it seemed carved through, like a giant knife through a piece of toast. He sniffed, smelling old and scattered scents about the cave making him assume that no one had really lived here in a long time, if ever and only the occasional person or fiero had come here lately. The over-seeing behemoth seemed to stare down at them, come from another world. Through it all, the creepyness or the incredibleness, it was just in lue of a better word-cool.
He shook his thoughts away as she spoke once more and looked to her, his mind quickly made up. Besides the fact that this place was just too interesting to pass up, he unconciously wanted to impress her. He grinned as he stepped forward toward the enterance, nodding hard "Yeah, of course! Let's go!"

She returned the grin, the nervousness that she was feeling being around the cave disappearing. With him there, it didn't seem so scary for some reason.
She felt the temperature drop more the closer they got to the cave, and then noticed something interesting about the rock a few steps in. "Look." She said in a hushed voice, her tail brushing against the cold stones and coming away black. The wall of the cave looked scorched, as though a huge fire had ripped through the cavern long ago. "Maybe there was a forest fire or something."
Even though she was speaking quietly, her words echoed off the walls. She gave a small involuntary shiver at the sound of them. Even though they were her own words, they sounded dark and menacing. She didn't want to look like a coward in front of Embarr though, and so she resisted the urge to turn around and run out of the cave. She couldn't resist another shiver though as she wiped her tail off on a part of the stone that wasn't charred.

He squinted his eyes as he looked at the ashy, charred walls and her blackened tail. He nodded at that, imagining a different landscape where they both stood, some forest in the evolving world that sucumbed to the blazes. "You're right..." He murmured back as her words rebounded around them.
He looked around, realizing he felt uncomfortable in the wide, barren space. It seemed so unnatural. He was undeniably glad he had her with him or he would have just slunk right back out to escape it. He knew people had trouble with closed places but he thought he'd rather have a crowded place over this.
Another quite different feeling suddenly sprang up in him as he saw her shivers, his tail touching her back gently. "Well, let's try to uncover this mystery hm?" He whispered optimistically. He wasn't about to let being daunted ruin their time, not even a little.

She felt better when she felt his tail on her back, like he was lending her some of his strength through it. It reminded her that she wasn't alone and grounded her a bit, letting her realize that this was, after all, just a cave. She couldn't smell any threat. All that was here were the scattered smells of small animals and Fieros, with the occasional human. Nothing to be afraid of.
It was more the feel of the place than anything, of how old it was, like a cranky old grandmother that was going to yell at them to get off of her lawn. She smiled internally at this, she had been listening to Wolf too much lately.
"Yes, let's." She whispered back, and began to walk slowly further into the cave, feeling a bit better about the whole situation, but still kind of wishing that she had chosen to show Embarr the waterfall instead.

He smiled as she seemed to relax with his brief comforting gesture and continued to walk with her side by side. The further they walked, the more that the intrigue of the place outbalanced the intimidation. He glanced side to side as he could see stalagtites and stalagmites. The walls around them became less rounded and neat and more shaped and rocky. Different formations cropped up from small stones to large almost-creature shaped rocks. He was starting to get a little apprehensive about the positibility of becoming lost-how long could it go?-and he quickly tried to talk his way out of the feelings. He leaned to whisper in her ear at one point when they were a fair distance into the cave. "See that over there? Doesn't it look like a phoenix about to spring up into flight?" In this part his words seemed to bounce less. "Or this one over here-it's like a horse rearing if you just tilt your head and squint a little..."
His ears flicked forward as he could hear the sound of water dripping.

(OOC: For continuity sake, allll this took place before the plot? It would kind of have to XD But the pups will be born in the same timeline thingy the plot is right now? Maybe being possessed stopped Cala from having the pups? Does that make sense? XD)
Cala had indeed relaxed at his gentle touch. She felt comfortable around the male. Maybe even more comfortable than she did around her two pack mates, which was more than a bit odd. She had to keep reminding herself that they had just met. Their personalities fit together so perfectly that she felt like he had been around for years though.
The sound of his voice jolted her out of her thoughts, and she looked at the rock formations he had pointed out. It did indeed look like a fire bird just about to take flight. A hole in the ceiling poured light down onto that particular spot, making the rock seem alive and full of energy.
She switched her attention to the next one as he described it, and she did as he'd said, tilting her head and squinting until she saw exactly what he meant. She wasn't scared anymore at all, and with a sudden noise of excitement she bounded forward, heading for a darker part of the tunnel they were currently in. "I wonder what's through here!" She called back as she disappeared into the blackness.
She was gone for only a few moments when she reappeared back at the entrance, eyes shining in excitement. "Come look what I found!" She called out, tail wagging a mile a minute.

(That makes sense; the dragon mama probably wouldn't want one of her army to be weak with offspring...P: Would the deer bringing occur after the plot...?? Or before?)
Embarr smiled at her as she looked to the formations he pointed out. He could see her pale pink eyes widening as she looked toward them and obviously caught on as to what he was trying to show her. He smiled widely, finding that look to be something fiercely adorable. He felt more of a protective drive toward the female. She seemed innocent like nothing had really rocked her from her comfort zone before, unlike her alpha was, though he felt that same drive more with this female he had just met. And he felt he'd like nothing more than to keep it this way.
That was why he was surprised as she suddenly broke away from beside him and the white tip of her tail disappeared into the nearly pitch black section of the tunnel. He stopped walking and stared after her, tilting his head. He didn't like this; not at all. More he thought about it, the fact that the entry of the cave didn't smell fresh didn't mean anything; something could have been living deeper inside or have another entry way. Something that could be just waiting for an innocent little fiero to make a meal of. He was just about to dash in after her when she came back. He quickly relaxed, tilting his head lightly. "What-? Okay!" He said as he made his way toward her, ready to follow her, curious to see what she was so excited about.

Her wagging tail brushed him as he reached her side, and she visibly had to gain control over her excitement so she walked through the opening with him instead of bounding in ahead again. "Isn't it beautiful?" She asked quietly, her excitement at the place becoming overwhelmed with awe.
The huge circular cavern the two found themselves in was gloomy. There seemed to be little light from the outside getting in, but what did was reflected a hundred times over by the crystals lining its upper walls and ceiling. Crystals of every colour and hue, shimmering and sparkling and casting crisscrossing rainbow lights all over the room. There didn't seem to be a tunnel leading out. This was the furthest into the cave they could travel.
Suddenly, unable to contain her excitement any more, Cala raced down the slight dip in the floor and to the centre of the room, then looked up at the crystals that filled her field of vision. "There must be a million of them!" She decided.

He followed along by her side into the darker part of the tunnel. He was relieved to see the light a moment later and his jaw began to drop before they had even gotten completely into this new cavern. He stared at the odd crystals sticking out from the rocky tops of the room. He was somewhat upset by the fact this may mark the end of their journey since there was no exit.
Embarr followed his new found friend down into the center as well, his eyes still stuck onto the various crystals over their heads. "Maybe even more...!" He laughed lightly before he finally let his neck relax and stared at the female. The effect that the rainbow lights reflecting around and onto her was amazing. The white in her fur was almost illuminated by the spectrum of light from the crystals. "Yes...Very beautiful." He breathed quietly before he let his body lean against hers gently in the cool of the cave.

Compared to the cave, his body was pleasantly warm against her, and she found herself almost automatically leaning into his touch as she continued to look around the place they had found themselves in. That feeling of... wrongness, like they were intruding, that she had felt the second she had stepped into the cave was still there, but the beauty of the room and the male at her side decreased it, Embarr more than the gems, although she didn't realize that quite yet.
Slowly, her attention turned from the jewel encrusted walls and ceiling to Embarr. He was looking at her instead of the crystals, and she had just opened her mouth to ask why when something glittering just beyond him caught her eye.
"Oh, one of the crystals fell!" She exclaimed, and left his side momentarily to pounce on what she had discovered. "That's odd." Came her next comment as she pawed at the thing. "It's so perfectly round, and it shouldn't be changing colours unless I move my head, should it? It's warmer than the rest of the cave too!"
The thin object intrigued her, and she gently picked it up and laid it at Embarr's feet. "See how it changes colours?" She asked the other Fiero. Suddenly her voice changed, and took on a hint of shyness. "I'm not quite sure what it is, but would you want to keep it?" Her fur brushed against his as she asked it.
(OOC: Yes, that is what you think it is XD And yes, I have had this planned since January XD Don't worry though. Also, they likely wouldn't know what it is. *Nods*)

He saw her look toward him now, his ears pricking up as she began to talk; however she seemed to get distracted with something. Embarr watched as she bounded away lightly, tilting his head. "Really-?" He glanced up; had one of the crystals fell just now? Was it like an avalanche and one came down they all would too? No; what a stupid thought. This cavern was obviously sturdy.
"Changing colors-?" He laid his ears back as she said that, walking forward to meet his friend halfway with the object.Indeed, it was changing colors; from a green to purple, from red to yellow to orange. "This probably isn't a crystal..." He said as he leaned his head down to sniff at it; it smelled of something living; not of Cala either.
He lifted his head again as she said that, feeling her against him as well. He blinked at her, the object between them continuing to revolve in it's colors, the same order, over and over. "I-...I would like that, I think...But there's something I want more..." Gently, he leaned his head up to hers, his tongue gently grooming her neck, tail wagging gently against her back.

(OOC: The sudden realization that it's been over a year real time since this was started ) She wasn't surprised by the action. Being close to Embarr seemed as natural to Cala as breathing. What surprised her was his words. Naturally, she interpreted them in the way she wanted them to be. She wanted them to mean that it was her he wanted. The feeling that this was right, that she wanted to be with him as more than just a friend had been very quietly growing stronger since they had entered the cave. But was that it? Just because she felt that way, didn't mean he did as well. He could have wanted a different crystal, or anything at all. She had to be sure. Moving closer to him, she nuzzled her cheek against his, then drew back. She kept her voice light, not wanting him to know just how much the answer to her question meant to her. "What is it you want?" She asked, her pale pink eyes looking into his identically coloured ones as she waited for the answer. (166) (8.1)

(Yes which is why I'm gonna be pushing to finish this very soon, aka posting on your good idea thread with tihs a lot XD We;ve certaintly reached enough posts lol)
The male blinked his eyes gently as he watched her on halted breath. He wished fieros had the ability to read minds. Her expression was so difficult to read. He let himself become lost in the bedazzled room's floor before he felt her face against his, sleek and soft. Embarr looked right back into her eyes, his resolve melting as he finally let his words go. "You." the word seemed to rebound off the rounded ceiling of the cave room. "I want you...I want to protect you; to keep you safe and happy..." He stepped close to her again, leaning his head into hers. "Maybe even explore another cave or two with you..." He chuckled lightly, feeling nice with letting the cat out of the bag.
Though now his thoughts worried she didn't feel the same; that she'd reject his offer and not want to even talk with him again.

Cala's heart was pounding in her chest as she waited for the answer. It was an answer that could change her entire life. When she heard his words, she seemed to almost melt against him in relief, and her legs trembled a bit, threatening to stop holding her up.
"I want that too." She said quietly, her small pink tongue darting out to lick at Embarr's ears. "It just feels so... right, us together." She continued on, even quieter, almost speaking to herself. "I... I love you Embarr." She admitted, blushing slightly at the words. Her tail wagged gently and her face suddenly broke into a smile. "I love you." She said again.
The second time was louder, and felt easier. In fact, she felt overjoyed. She had never thought that she would fall in love that day, and certainly not with someone who loved her back the way Embarr did. "I love you." She whispered for a third time, her eyes shining with the emotion.

His ears perked up at that, quickly leaning his weight to her side so he could help keep her up, just in case she did fall. "Yes, that's how I feel..." He said in almost a purring tone with her gentle lick. His eyes widened gently with that. "I love you too-" he said and no sooner than he said that had the smile broken over her face and the repeating of the words occured. His tail began to wag and he pressed very closely into her, with barely a speck between them. "I love you too Cala...From now onward..."
He let his tail curve around hers, almost holding it in his. "Those are the most beautiful words I've ever heard, by the way..." He breathed gently against her face then sighed. "It's probably getting late-as much as I don't want to say that, I should be getting home..."
