Name: Isabelle Gender: Female
Isabelle remembered the days when she was a cat.
She could remember lazing about. She remembered killing the occasional small woodland creature. Spending hours nestled in any warm or cushy spot she could find, (Both if she were lucky.) Competing with her sister for attention from that girl who was always around. Getting away with what she wanted- because she didn't usually want much.
As Isabelle recalled, it all sucked.
Well, maybe it was only her new body that told her so. As a cat she probably thought that it was the perfect life for her. But now, as a fiero pup, the only thing that she pined for was adventure. She wanted to wander and explore. She didn't exactly know why.
In fact, it wouldn't be far-fetched to say that this was the only change Isabelle had noticed in herself since coming to this world and her body taking on a new shape. Though it wasn't all that surprising- she was still about the same size as your average housecat, and still retained her bright orange fur. (Isabelle took pride in her fur. And she may or may not be right to- it's certainly very soft and does have a nice color.)
But she still hadn't begun to question her elongated muzzle, thick dog-like tail, and large wet nose as of yet. These were all things she hadn't really paid attention to. Not to mention her eyes- once an amber-green color, they were now bright blue. She'd never once really paid attention to her reflection, however, so even after she would begin to realize her changes in appearance, she wouldn't notice the striking change in eye color. Others around her might, namely her sister and Winter.
When Winter/Isabelle's human first decided that it would be a good idea to leave for this new world and take the sisters along for the ride, she hadn't once imagined that they would become separated. Somewhere along the way all three were dumped off at different areas somehow. Isabelle had found herself in the middle of a vast woodland, where she spent the first few days attempting to hunt in a rather awkward fashion. Now that she was a pup, she'd completely lost all prior experience. Though it was nice to start life anew, Isabelle thought it a pain to have to re-learn everything that once came to her naturally.
After those painful first days, she'd been discovered by some kid, (who, ironically, was a friend of Winter's. Isabelle had not realized this at first, however.)
This kid, who she later learned to be named Chess, was kinda strange-looking. He had wings and antennae, for one, and kinda smelled like those fluttery bugs Isabelle had once tried to eat on a summer night. That hadn't turned out well, and the smell was a tad unbearable. So every so often she had to escape from it- he was a good kid, really, but Isabelle still needed to retain her independence, a trait Chess viewed as a simple bad habit.
In fact, this was the situation Isabelle found herself in now. She'd run out of the cabin behind Chess's back so that she could take a stroll in the fresh air. Because the cabin was built right at the edge of the woods, it didn't take long for Isabelle to find herself wandering the vast fields outside of the forest instead.

Isabelle took a large gulp of air and looked around lazily. When she'd first arrived here, the large clear fields were a bit of a shock. Where she'd first lived, there were trees everywhere. (Just like in the forest behind her. Trees were old news and were uninteresting.) Looking up, she'd also remembered that she'd never seen so much sky before either. cloud-filled, colorful sky. It sure was pretty this late in the day. But these discoveries became a bore pretty fast, so eventually she found herself making the trip from the cabin out into the feilds for another reason entirely.
Isabelle wandered further into the tall grass, which became increasingly long and golden as she went. In the distance, she could spot a large hill which jutted out against all the gentle slopes around it. A single tree jutted from it's top. It was a rather queer sight, but again, it wasn't what she came here before.
As if on cue, Isabelle's acute hearing picked up the smallest rustling in the grass around her. All around- it's as if every blade of grass began moving at once. She looked up at the sky- in the west, the sun was beginning to just glance the horizon. To the east, the colorful cotton-candy colored clouds were giving way to a darker shade of navy blue. The first few stars were beginning to show themselves.
Yep. It was just about that time. Isabelle sat and waited, the grass growing even more lively around her.

Isabelle peered towards the sun. It's journey was almost completed, it's remaining pinpricks of light finally beginning to fade. Up above, almost the entire sky had become swathed in that same navy blue satin, and the stars grew brighter into their respective strange constellations. If Isabelle had paid more attention to home on earth, that would have been another thing she'd noticed- the stars here were situated very differently than they were back on their world. Perhaps at some point this world would have an astronomer- somebody to plot out these weird new patterns.
Isabelle took another glance. Yes, it was nearly time. The sun had finally dropped below the horizon, the last light sinking with it below the miles of golden grass. Now, the sky began to darken even more so. Navy blue turned increasingly black, and the stars stood out in deeper contrast.
At this moment- the moment the pup had been waiting for- the grass had finally begun to calm down. Each blade bent over so slightly at the stem. This was because each blade now bore a bit of extra weight- at the very end of every stem clung a small, black speck. It was a rather strange sight, but upon closer inspection these specks seemed to posses three pairs of legs, as well as a sleek black shell.
As if on cue, each speck suddenly leaped from its respective blade to join the stars in the sky.
The air was now filled with what were quite obviously fireflies, or some sort of strange variation of the sort that was native to this world. For one thing, they did not shine with the same yellow light that those on earth did, but instead had a neon blue flash that put the stars to shame. Not only this, but these creatures were also quite a bit more lively than their counterpart. They had no wings, and did not float calmly in the air. Instead, they leaped from place to place, sometimes reaching many feet high in the air.
Isabelle watched with a rather stupid smile on her muzzle, before realizing she was wasting her time just sitting there. So, she began to leap with them, pouncing happily and sometimes making a quick swipe with her large, awkward paws.

As the fiero played, she was fairly glad these things were so durable- their hard shells were able to protect them from her battering, not to mention their size.
What was even better was the fact that their luminescence made them much easier to spot in the nighttime. Isabelle's biggest annoyance was the fact that her eyesight wasn't as good as it should have been, something she'd need to get used to. She used to be able to see pretty well at night. But now that her cat's eyes had turned to that of a canine, she'd had a hard time adjusting.
Isabelle lowered herself close to the ground, eyeing the nearest bug carefully, judging the distance and whether or not the creature was about to jump.
Isabelle tensed her muscles. She continued to watch- the bug looked pretty relaxed, or maybe it was still asleep or something. Her tail twitching, she backed up a tiny, (Just to make sure she wouldn't overshoot it,) and waited an extra few moments just for the added suspense.
The pup leaped, and took a wild swipe at the creature.
as her paw knocked the bug from its resting place, it suddenly seemed to wake up and come alive. It sailed through the air, righting itself on the way and landing gracefully on the closest blade of grass. From there it hopped as quickly as it could away from the pup and her reckless playtime.
Isabelle continued to play-hunt with the bugs, her style distinctly more feline than canine. Instead of snapping with her teeth, Isabelle would swipe with her claws and paws. (Another thing she'd have to work on. Hunting with one's claws was hard to do when they lose their retractability.)

This playing went on for a while.
Of course, that was only to be expected- as soon as Isabelle had discovered this "game," it became sort of a hobby of hers, if anything. Whenever she could get away and find the time to make the walk, Isabelle would take the effort to wait until dusk and witness this fantastic sight. And then the hunt usually began.
These creatures tended to keep up their hopping about until late at night, much later than any young pup should be allowed to stay up. Isabelle kept up the game until her limbs began to ache from all the jumping and flailing. It took a while for her to realize when she begun to get worn out, and her pouncing lost a lot of its energy. Eventually she grew too tired to play, and was beginning to dread the long walk home- which would now be even longer thanks to her sore legs.
The young fiero considered her options. She could just sleep here in the grass, but it was a bit too long an itchy to be very comfortable. She supposed she could just head a tiny ways back and sleep at the edge of the woods, were it not so creepy there. Plus, Chess would be bound to find her and take her back to the tiny cabin.
Isabelle let out a long "Mrrrroooorrr..." the equivalent of a sigh, rather a strange sounding sound coming from her canine throat.
Then she happened to look up at that hill from earlier- the one with the tree on it. The grass hadn't grown as well up on that hill, seeing as the tree's long and thick bows blotted out most of the sun. In fact, the hill was covered instead in thick moss.
It was almost perfect. Using her remaining energy, Isabelle trotted towards the small haven, the grass whipping gently across her fur as she went. When she reached it's base, she began up the slope, moving increasingly sluggishly.
She reached the tree's gnarly roots and looked up. Wow. It was bigger than she thought. The trunk's girth was pretty amazing.
The pup yawned. Yeah, she must have been more tired than she thought. Luckily, the perfect spot was right in front of her. A couple of the tree's roots had grown in a bit of a ring, with a large padding of moss between them- the perfect size for her to curl up and sleep in.
And that's just what she did, under the protection of the giant tree, stars shining down from the sky above and the bugs shining up from the grass below.
