> Dream of Kitsu.
You are in a sleek, dark grey land, but you sense someone else is with you. The grey land is barren and smooth, and there is no horizon. It is just grey. You jump as a hand touches your shoulder.
It's Kitsu. She casually lifts up a small bag filled with hemp. You shake your head no, and she shrugs and stuffs it back into her pocket. You eye it a little longingly. After what seems like forever, you look at Kitsu and examine her face. Eyes meet.
"I really don't know what's going on, do I?" You whisper. It was meant as a thought, but it had leaked out through your lips.
"Nobody does. But no, you especially don't."
Your eyes open and you stare at your room. You roll over and hug your pillow tighter. You're a bit confused at the dream, but as you try to remember it, it slowly fades away. You decide to disregard the sense that something bad has happened, somewhere.

> Look out the window.
You examine your desk. On top of it is a red lava lamp and your laptop. Your cell phone was on it before you put it in your pocket. It has two drawers.

You open the drawer on the right. Inside are notebooks and folders with titles and things written inside them. There's also a tablet, if you ever need to draw something.
Notebooks: > GAME RULES > OPTIONS > FAN STORIES > FAN ART > PAUSE/CONTINUE > PRETTY PRINCESS DIARY

> IGNORE PRETTY PRINCESS DIARY
You ignore the PRETTY PRINCESS DIARY, which is empty anyway, since you have never before saved the game. You decide you never will. It's just embarrassing to carry that thing around.

> Okay, look at GAME RULES.
You open to the first page of the notebook titled GAME RULES, and begin to read it. Funny, you don't remember this being here before, but whatever.
GAME RULES
1. CHARACTER COMMANDS: a. Must be concise and to the point. b. One command. If there are multiple lines, they will be counted as multiple commands. You may suggest any number of commands, but there must be only one command PER suggestion. c. Begins with > and usually ends with a period. d. May or may not be followed by the character, depending on the character. e. Command suggestions are selected purely on the author's gleeful whim.
2. PAUSE/CONTINUE: a. Will stop the action and allow the character to ONLY OBSERVE their surroundings. b. If you command a character to do an action, it is treated as a request to CONTINUE. c. You may PAUSE or CONTINUE at most any time by simply tearing a page out of the PAUSE/CONTINUE notebook. The PAUSE/CONTINUE notebook has only 20 pages inside it. d. There may be certain areas where the PAUSE/CONTINUE notebook looses its power and cannot work. If you tear a page in these areas, it will not do anything, but will use up a page in the notebook.
3. SAVING THE GAME: a. The game may be saved at any time except in certain areas or if the character is commanded to not save the game. b. Turning off the game or switching to another player while saving will corrupt the game file and make it no longer playable. c. To save the game, a character must simply write a quick summary of what has happened to them in their DIARY notebook. At the end of the game, characters may reread their DIARY notebooks. d. If a character has saved, they may choose at any time to restart the game and return to their last saved point. Characters automatically go back to their last save point if they die or disappear in some way. e. If a character has never saved and die or disappear in some way, they remain gone forever.
4. INVENTORY: a. Only as much as the character can hold. EX: Hands, backpacks, luggage. In the case of objects that carry other objects, the amount of hands needed to carry them depends on that object. b. Characters cannot carry/move things that are too heavy for them. In some cases, they may be able to move it a small distance before dropping the object. c. Characters may only use items they know how to use. They may learn how to use it, however. This goes especially for weapons.
5. OPTIONS: a. First Person/Second Person/Third Person - Selects point of view of the game. Second person is the option automatically selected at the start of the game. b. Choose Character - Selects which character to follow. c. Restart Game - Sends character back to last save point. If the character has never saved, this will delete the character. d. Clear Save Game - Deletes character.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE:
> NOTEBOOKS
At any time will make your character examine the notebooks they have on hand. Depending on the books they have, this will allow them to:
- View GAME RULES - Edit the game OPTIONS - View FAN STORIES/FAN ART submitted by fans - PAUSE/CONTINUE the game - SAVE the game
ALSO: - Enjoy the game |
