Kyrarea interpreted this, Sweetheart seemingly understanding her, as simply her reacting to her voice, and the instinct to please that was present in most canines. "There's a good girl." She said, starting up her downward journey again. "We're almost done this, I promise." She worked her way down to Sweetheart's ankle with no more problems, although she could feel the Fiero tensing up as she got closer and closer to her paw.
What should she do now? Repeat the process with the other legs, and save all the paws for last? Or keep going and do each leg, including the paws, separately? Which would be better? She gently stroked Sweetheart's ankle as she thought. Well, she was already down here now, might as well get it over with. She began by simply stroking down on the top of the paws, and as predicted, Sweetheart lifted that foot and tried to pull away.
Kyrarea held on though, not letting her pull the foot away, and even used the movement to her advantage, using her other hand to softly touch the rough pads of the foot. Sweetheart pulled a lot at this, nearly lifting Kyrarea from the ground when she stubbornly held on.
"This is the worst Sweetheart, I promise." She said in a soothing voice, ignoring the fact that, if she wanted to, Sweetheart could simply slam her to the ground and run away. "We're almost done, I promise."

Hesitantly, bit by bit, Sweetheart relaxed, but kept her paw in the air as Kyrarea's fingers were on her pad, and she didn't want to crush them. It was uncomfortable for them to be there, but Kyrarea was her alpha and she could sit through this for her, hopefully.
A small whine escaped her mouth, but she held perfectly still as Kyrarea rubbed her finger tips over her pads. It felt... awkward. That was the word she was looking for. Not so much bad as just plain weird. Sweetheart didn't understand why this was necessary. When would Kyrarea have to touch her paws outside of this?
Kyrarea focused all her attention on her task once Sweetheart stopped resisting. She slipped a finger in between the toes and gently pulled apart, wanting to be absolutely certain that Sweetheart was used to her touch. And besides, to be truthful, she was fascinated by Sweetheart's paws. They were so large and soft. This was what supported her weight and enabled her to run so swiftly with such little sound.
She ran her hand along the three sharp claws before finally concluding that that paw was done. Only three more legs left to go now.

"Fishtaco! Fiiiishtacooo!" Tiger called out while running through a meadow. Fishtaco liked meadows. Tiger found this interesting, as Fishtaco once had a slightly traumatic experience with a meadow fire that they did not like to discuss. It had all happened so suddenly. But Fishtaco was raised among meadows and ashes, so to meadows he lived and ashes he died. To put it poetically. Tiger was a fairly poetic person, she liked to think. Tiger scanned the horizon. What was that grey spot on the horizon? Was it- noo. Fishtaco wasn't that big. He was just a young pup. He hardly had time to grow up yet, after all. Tiger squinted and looked closer. Stupid sunlight. Oh god. He was HUGE. Like, horse sized huge. Tiger hated horses. They were too dangerous and unpredictable. But no. Fishtaco wasn't a horse. He was still her baby. Her giant, puppy baby. Maybe that wasn't the best word. Pet? Beloved? Tiger decided she was overthinking things again. "Fishtaco!" Tiger sprinted over to the fiero, who was apparently drinking from a lake. "Taco!" Fishtaco jerked his head up and looked around. "Taco!" Tiger ran up to him, skidding a little on the pebbles, and threw her arms around his shaggy neck for a shaggy hug. "Fishtacoo! You're okay! Don't run off from my house like that!" Fishtaco whimpered and backed away from her hug, the lake water lapping at his ankles. He was so... So huge. Fishtaco jerked his head, flinging Tiger's arms off, and tilted his head slightly. Tiger followed his gaze and saw another fiero and her trainer. "Oh, that reminds me. We should train someday." In hindsight that was kind of stupid to say. Of course she should train right here right now. It was as if her fate was already decided on the matter. Things like that happened in the planet, Tiger noticed. Maybe it was a fieros thing? Anyway. Sweetheart jumped at the sound of the girl calling her Fiero, and jerked her paw out of Kyrarea's grasp so she could run away from whatever was making all that noise if she needed to.
Kyrarea let out a muffled curse and let her go, then turned around, glaring at the source of the noise that had interrupted her training. What was so important that it was allowed to interrupt her, after she had put so much time and effort into working with Sweetheart?
The answer turned out to be another Fiero and a girl. Kyrarea's mood softened when she heard what the girl was saying. So her Fiero had run away? They must be out here training for the first time too then. Should she talk to them?
Well, why not? Her training was already interrupted, and Sweetheart likely needed a minute to calm down after spooking like that.
"Hi!" She called out, waving. She figured if she could get the girl to come over and introduce herself and not make loud threatening noises that Sweetheart would calm down faster, when she realized that she posed no threat.

Tiger straightened and turned to face the girl with her fiero. "Well, let's go meet them, Fishtaco." Fishtaco hesitated as Tiger walked over them, then decided it would be polite to introduce himself. Or at least be near his owner. For some reason, he always felt a pull around Tiger. Like, even though she was a strange creature, that he really ought to do as he says.
"Uh. Hi." Tiger looked down nervously, then looked back up at the girl. She was a potential friend. There weren't many people here, anyway, and it was good to get to know the ones that were here. Making eye contact and trying to appear confident and friendly, Tiger attempted to start a conversation. "Are you training your fiero?"
Fishtaco followed her carefully, switching looks between the two strangers. He kind of sat behind Tiger. Usually he was okay around other fieros, but he didn't quite know how to act around girls. The only other fiero back at home was Giggles, and Giggles was just a pup. Fishtaco didn't exactly fit between Tiger's legs anymore. He had had a growth spurt overnight. It kind of made him hungry.

Kyrarea was relieved when the girl decided to come over. Sweetheart would have been much more freaked if the thing that had made the noise hadn't shown itself.
Indeed, now that she could see that it was nothing more than another human girl, not too much different from her Alpha, and another Fiero, not too much different from herself, she relaxed, and rethought the few steps she had taken away from them.
She walked over to Kyrarea's side, who put a hand on her back, trying to enforce the training they had done so far. To her surprise, Sweetheart accepted the contact without even thinking about it.
"Yep." She said in reply to Tiger's question. "I hope to ride her someday. Right now I'm teaching her the basics, things like accept contact and sit. Her name's Sweetheart, and it suits her."
Then her eyes fell on the other Fiero, and she gasped in in wonder. He was the first full grown male Fiero she had ever seen, a beautiful stallion, by her way of thinking, with such clear blue eyes and pretty grey patterns. Somehow, the fact that he wasn't brightly coloured just added to his beauty.
"And who's this?" She asked, gesturing at him.

"I think I'll train my fiero too. I don't know what yet to start with..." Tiger suddenly felt a wee bit self conscious about her 'let's wing it' style. "My fiero is named, uh, Fishtaco." Fishtaco peered out from behind Tiger, then sidestepped into sight. This was his chance. He held his head high as Tiger introduced him, using his delicious title. Fishtaco was proud of his name. Tiger was only slightly regretting it, but it was still a good name, she guessed.
Tiger had gone to the state fair a couple weeks ago. It was really fun. They were actually selling fishtacos, but none of them were her fiero. It was all mere food. This disappointed Tiger. It was also disappointing that she didn't want to spend any money on the fishtacos, but she could always get one next year. They would probably be too spicy anyway. Tiger didn't like spicy things.
"Well, I guess I'll just start training. Do you know what's a good place to start?"

(OOC: I feel like making Kyrarea think in horse terms today, so, yeah)
Okay. Wolf-girls named Dragon she could deal with, but Fishtaco? What the heck kind of name was that? Maybe the Fiero liked fish, and tacos? To her, it was a completely unsuitable name for a beautiful creature like the stallion in front of her, but she didn't want to offed the owner. She was quite curious though.
"That's a really unique name, is there a story behind it?" She asked, staring in awe at the darker grey spots on Fishtaco's back. What a foal that would make with Sweetheart! But then she remembered that Wolf had given her Sweetheart on the condition that she was allowed to keep her mate, Haku, and not have to breed to other Fieros if she didn't want to.
Sweetheart seemed shy of the other Fiero, completely the opposite of how she had been with Haku. Of course, she had been a pup then, so maybe that was it? She flicked her ears slightly forward in greeting, but didn't come any closer to him.
Then the girl asked about training. "Well, training really depends on what you want them to do." She said with a shrug. "I myself, well, I grew up around horses, and it only makes sense to me to train something to ride it. I'm not much into battling, although, if the rumours are true about what Fieros can learn, I might teach Sweetheart some things that could be considered attacks, but not use them. Starting a fire for instance might come in handy."
"If you don't know what you want to use him for, maybe just try teaching him some basics? Follow and Come and Stay and all that? I think any Fiero could likely benefit from learning that, make sure he doesn't run off again."
She was rambling, she knew it, but she kinda just wanted to say whatever would make the girl go away. She knew that she had called her over in the first place, but now that it had become clear to Sweetheart that what had made the noise wasn't a monster, she kind of wanted to get back to training. They were so close on learning Accept Contact, just three more legs...

"Uh, nah, I just kinda came out with it. I like how it sounds..." Tiger felt a little foolish. Fishtaco rolled in the grass.
"I think I'll just do that then." Tiger dismissed herself and walked away, giving them room to do whatever they wanted unless they came too close because if they did that then she'd have to move again but Tiger wasn't sure if that was a run-on sentence or not so she just decided to move on to the next thing.
"Fishtaco." Fishtaco ceased roll playing around and sat up, staring at Tiger. "We've got to learn... Uhm, for you to accept my contact." It almost sounded dirty but it actually wasn't.
Fishtaco sighed and walked over to Tiger, dragging his feet a bit. He didn't feel like doing much today. He was still hungry, and that was a pretty girl he was walking away from. But okay. Anything for Tiger.

Well, that was interesting. She watched them walk away, and wondered if she would meet them again someday, maybe in the show ring. The girl had seemed eager to train. With a bit of guilt, Kyrarea realized that she hadn't asked her for her name.
She shook the thought off though, and turned her attention back to Sweetheart. This first trick was taking much longer than she expected, and she might just pack up and head home once it was completed.
"We're almost done, really." She said, and reached for the paw she had been holding before the other girl and her oddly named Fiero had shown up. To her great surprise, Sweetheart let her have it with with only a tiny bit of hesitation. She rubbed her hand over the pads, and concluded that Sweetheart didn't have any problem with that, so let her put it back down.
She crossed in front of her and reached for the other leg. This one, Sweetheart was more reluctant to let her have, but eventually sighed and lifted it off the ground as well. If they continued at this pace, they would be done within minutes.

To Kyrarea's extreme surprise, Sweetheart offered no more resistance on the leg than that. She allowed her to stroke the soft fur that grew around her pads and didn't pull back. This seemed odd to Kyrarea, but she wasn't complaining. This trick had taken most of the day to teach and honestly, she just wanted to go home and have her supper now.
"There's my good girl." She said to the Fiero, letting Sweetheart put the leg back on the ground. "We're going to be unstoppable in the shows." She said with a grin as she reached for another square of meat, and again fed the giant wolf as though she were a horse.
Sweetheart just sighed, getting a tiny bit bored of all this. She hoped that they would go home soon. She also hoped that Kyrarea would forget to do her right back leg, because there was something sharp and uncomfortable in that paw that she didn't want the girl touching.

Kyrarea heard the sigh, and recognized it. Sweetheart was bored. Well, at least that meant that she was relaxed, and wouldn't try to bolt, or attack her, not that she was all that afraid of the latter. She didn't think that Sweetheart had a mean bone in her body. If she threw her into battle, she would likely just cower there and whimper.
It was a good thing she belonged to her then and not Wolf. She had no idea why her friend wanted to make the creatures fight, especially when she liked the things so much. Maybe she would have to ask her one day.
But this speculation was not getting the training done, and she put a hand on Sweetheart's shoulder, then ran it down her back and to the shoulder on her right back leg. Just two more legs left now. Then, because Sweetheart would be used to her touch, maybe she could work on teaching her to sit without her freaking out again.
This leg went as smoothly as the last one, she lifted it up, and peered closely at the great black pads, feeling all the power that was in the creature.

Sweetheart took all her weight off of the leg that Kyrarea was holding, and mostly off the other back leg too, because whatever sharp pointy thing that was in her pad there hurt more the more weight she put on it. She was dangerously close to overbalancing and falling forward, but she held still as Kyrarea examined the leg.
When she put it back down, she gave a sigh of relief and shifted so the paw that hurt was almost off the ground.
When Kyrarea made a move for it though, she growled very quietly and moved away from the girl. To her knowledge, pressure on that paw hurt, and Kyrarea running her fingers over her other pads had definitely been pressure.
Kyrarea blinked in surprise when Sweetheart growled, and made another move for the paw, only for it to be moved away from her again. "Hey." She said to Sweetheart. "That's the last paw, I promise. Come on girl, let me take a look at it."
Sweetheart responded by putting all her weight on it, which hurt, but made it impossible for Kyrarea to lift it.

Kyrarea tried anyways, wrapping both hands around the paw and lifting upwards. It didn't budge. However, Sweetheart didn't protest at her touch, so that was something. "Come on girl." She murmured. I'm not going to hurt you, I promise. Let me see that leg, I can help whatever's wrong with your hoof, I mean paw." It had been the first time in awhile she had lapsed into horse speak.
"I'll wait all day." She said, tracing one silver stripe on Sweetheart's leg. "Come on girl, I can help you." She said after a few minutes of this.
Sweetheart stubbornly kept all the weight on that paw, refusing to let her lift it. It wasn't that she didn't trust her alpha, not exactly, more that she was a different species than her, and wouldn't have the same knowledge. She may injure her paw further by accident.
"I promise Sweetheart, I'm not going to hurt you." She said. Of course, she didn't think that the Fiero could understand her, she was just talking, figuring that the sound of her voice might calm her down.
"You know, this would be the one reason why you would have to be used to me touching your feet." She said. "You likely have a thorn in your paw, don't you, or a pine needle? I can take it out, I promise."
Sweetheart's ears flicked back, listening to the words of her alpha. With one large sigh, she surrendered, allowing Kyrarea to finally lift up her leg and examine the paw.

Kyrarea was surprised when she lifted her paw, but she recovered quickly, trying not to let it show on her face as she turned the paw up toward her. She was tempted to run her fingers over the pads the way she had with the other ones, but Sweetheart being hurt took priority over the training right now, and she searched for what was bothering her instead.
A splinter of wood, thin and pointy enough to become lodged in her big, main pad, caught her eye. "There we go girl, steady." She said, even though she hadn't taught anything of the kind yet. She just hoped that the sound of her voice would calm her down. "This might hurt." She said, carefully closing her thumb and index finger around the splinter and yanking up.
With a yelp from Sweetheart, the splinter came out of her paw. Luckily it hadn't been large enough to cause it to bleed, the are might be tender for the next few days though. "Very, very good girl!" Kyrarea exclaimed as she rubbed the paw, with no response from Sweetheart.
She let it go, and then quickly petted her Fiero all over, just to make sure, and was delighted when Sweetheart didn't flinch away. "I think... that we're done." She said, and promptly fed her the rest of the meat she had brought along.
