Just pretend that all This took place on this thread XD Sweetheart heard the command, and was ready for it. She didn't quite know how to go about getting up using all four legs at once though. She settled for raising her body a bit with her front legs before bringing her back legs underneath her and pushing off the ground, hoping that this wouldn't cause Kyrarea to fall off of her again. Kyrarea tipped forward, but held on with her knees, as well as wrapping her arms as far around Sweetheart's neck as they would go. For one moment, she thought she was going to tumble over her head again, but that soon passed, and Sweetheart was finally standing with her on her back. "Good girl! She called out and reached around to feed her a bit of meat. True, she had almost fallen off, but this was a huge step forward for both of them in learning this new trick. Really, a lot of this was going to be Kyrarea getting used to the way Sweetheart moved. With horses, it was usually getting the animal used to having you on their back, but Sweetheart seemed to accept her, and was doing her best job to make sure that she stayed on.
Kyrarea wanted to eventually train her using mostly spoken commands like walk on and whoa, but for now, just getting her to walk anywhere was likely enough. Then they would still have to work on her lying down and standing up with her on her back, since Kyrarea very much wanted to incorporate these two things into this trick.
They still had a long, long way to go, but she thought that they could likely get the very basics done today, which was still astonishing considering it took months to train a horse.
Carefully, Kyrarea squeezed her legs against Sweetheart's sides, and when that did nothing, gave a small kick and clucked her tongue.

Sweetheart's ears flicked back in Kyrarea direction, but other than that, she did nothing. Plainly her alpha wanted her to do something, but for the life of her, she couldn't figure out what. Maybe she wanted her to lie back down?
She thought this over for a few seconds, then decided to just go for it. Carefully, she brought her back end down, and then her front.
Kyrarea, who wasn't expecting this, slid several inches down her back, and only a quick grab around her Fiero's neck stopped her from falling off the back end.
"Not what I wanted girl." She muttered. Maybe though, she should just work on staying on, and mounting and dismounting, for now. She had moved a little fast.
"Let's slow down a bit then." She said, mostly to herself, but it benefited Sweetheart too, as she understood. Had Kyrarea been trying to teach her something new before whatever this was had been completed? She thought so, and was glad that they were slowing down. She still didn't know exactly what it was they were working on right now after all.

Alright, so Sweetheart was lying down. That was good. Kyrarea had decided to slow the training way down. She didn't really want to fall off again anytime soon. She likely would, she knew that. Horse training, and Fiero training as well, was full of trial and error. For now though, she just wanted to sit on her back, while she was lying down, and not have her spook. That, based on what they had done so far, shouldn't be too difficult at all.
Carefully, she sat down on her Fiero's back, and other than Sweetheart's ears flicking back, so she could better listen to anything that Kyrarea might have to say, the Fiero seemed to accept the human without any complaint.
This was amazing to Kyrarea. Here she was, sitting on the back of a giant wolf, and the creature was being as gentle and calm as an old mare. Clearly she didn't have any issues with Kyrarea on her back. The issues were with Kyrarea keeping her balance when she moved.
Maybe...
"Just do whatever you want girl, don't mind me here." She said quietly to her Fiero.

Sweetheart whined very quietly at this. Do whatever she wanted? She didn't quite understand. What was Kyrarea trying to accomplish sitting on her back? Whatever she wanted... was she allowed to move from the lying down position that Kyrarea had put her in? She hadn't specifically said to stand up, but she had said to do whatever she wanted...
Well, it wouldn't hurt to stand up, she supposed. If her alpha wanted her to lie back down, then she would. Whatever you want was a pretty broad term, and she was sure that there were restrictions to it that Kyrarea hadn't thought of when she had said it, but the only way to find them, was to test things.
Slowly, Sweetheart got to her feet, and Kyrarea automatically tightened her arms around her neck so she wouldn't fall off. The human's actions were a tiny bit uncomfortable to Sweetheart, but she wasn't very strong. Even if she was trying to crush Sweetheart's throat, the Fiero doubted that she could do it.
When Kyrarea didn't seem to protest this, she shook herself to get the grass off of her, and heard a thud as her alpha fell off her back.
Opps.

Kyrarea landed on her feet this time. She had been ready to fall off, and wasn't surprised when she did. "Alright... maybe... that wasn't quite what I meant." She said. She was firmly in the mindset that Sweetheart couldn't understand her, but people talked to their pets all the time. "When I said, not to mind me, I mean, don't pay too much attention to me, just do whatever you want in the training meadow, but, try not to do things that would make me fall off?"
She laughed quietly at the way she was explaining this to an animal. "Lie down." She said, and Sweetheart did so, and Kyrarea climbed back on her back. "Alright, go do what you want now." She said.
Sweetheart listened carefully to her alpha. She still didn't understand what exactly she was being taught, but she would follow her alpha's commands anyways. Carefully, trying not to jolt her, she stood back up. When this didn't get a comment, she took a step forward, toward an interestingly coloured flower, and felt Kyrarea sway on her back.
Wolves were different than horses. This was something that Kyrarea was learning. They moved differently, and she would have to get used to it, or she would be constantly falling off.

Alright. First things were first. Staying on. It was like learning to ride a horse all over again, except this horse did not have hooves, or a saddle and bridle, for that matter, or any training. Right now, all Kyrarea was concerned about was staying on Sweetheart's back, no matter how stupid she looked doing it. Carefully, she leaned forward and once again wrapped her arms around Sweetheart's neck. She knew she looked stupid, and that if she stayed like that for long enough that her back would start to hurt, but it would help her to stay on while she learned the way Sweetheart moved.
Sweetheart shifted her weight slightly when Kyrarea wrapped her arms around her neck. She couldn't tell anymore if this was supposed to be playing or training. Maybe she could treat it like a game, see what she could do while still keeping Kyrarea seated on her back. Her alpha appeared to dislike falling off, which meant that she was aiming to stay on her back.
Pleased that she had figured this out, she continued her journey to the flower, slowly though, feeling every time Kyrarea shifted on her back, and trying to shift herself in return to compensate for it. It made for quite an awkward gait, but she hadn't fallen off yet, so she felt like she must have accomplished something.

Kyrarea was having a hard time not laughing at the way Sweetheart was walking. It was almost like the Fiero had taken her suggestion of trying not to let her fall off to heart, and was doing everything she could to keep Kyrarea centered exactly on her back.
If she had really understood her words though...
"Not quite like that Sweetheart." She said. "Walk normally, just don't do anything that you think would make me fall off."
Sweetheart almost sighed at this. Her alpha was being confusing, but at least she was communicating her wants in words. That made things a bit easier. She shifted back into a normal walk, still heading toward the flower.
Walking normally though, made Kyrarea feel more awkward on her back. Sometimes she would shift the wrong way, and once or twice she even almost fell off, only her tight grip around Sweetheart's neck keeping her from sliding off her fluffy back.
As time went on though (she decided to abandon the flower and just walk in a wide circle, first one way, then the other) Kyrarea began to get used to her movements, and after that, she felt much more comfortable on her back. She even let go of her neck eventually, and sat up.
Sweetheart still wasn't sure what they were trying to accomplish here, but it seemed to her like, whatever it was, they were making good progress on it.

Kyrarea was amazed at the way she had reacted to her words. The shift from the awkward walking to the normal had been instantaneous after she had talked to her. Maybe what Wolf had said was true... She would think about that after this part of Sweetheart's training was done though. She wasn't quite sure how she felt about that. If it was true, it meant that her pet was just as intelligent as she, perhaps even more so.
Feeling suddenly bold, Sweetheart broke out into a trot, still traveling around in her circle. Kyrarea, who wasn't expecting this, gave a short yell and clung to her neck again, but didn't ask her to do anything other than what she was doing, so she kept going.
In fact, Kyrarea was smiling, feeling the wind whip her hair back. This, this was why she had come to this new world. She wondered if she was the first person to have succeeded so much in this. Wolf had talked to her of attempts to ride Fieros back in the old days of them, but from what she knew, no one had ever been entirely successful, likely because they were too busy teaching their Fieros to breathe fire instead.
That was another thing she was skeptical about that Wolf had told her. Her friend claimed that Fieros had all the elements inside them, and could shoot lightningbolts from their paws and breathe frost from their mouths if they were taught it.
Kyrarea couldn't even begin to think of how that would work, and she couldn't see much use for it either. Right now she was content with training her Fiero as she would train a horse. Maybe later on she would see if Wolf's claims were true or not.
She realized that as she had been thinking, she had unconsciously sat back up, and wasn't bouncing around on Sweetheart's back. Fieros, it seemed, had a very smooth trot. Or at least Sweetheart did.

Sweetheart, feeling her alpha relax and become used to the way she moved, felt overjoyed. She still wasn't sure what she should be trying to learn, but it was fun to run around after all that time learning to sit on Kyrarea's command and the rest of their training that they had been doing. Feeling bold, she suddenly straightened out and increased her pace until it was what Kyrarea would call a lope or canter.
Kyrarea let out a small noise of surprise at the sudden direction and speed change. She was used to controlling where the horse went, not having it randomly decide to go somewhere else. She clung to Sweetheart's neck for a little bit until she learned the new stride, finding it even smoother than the trot, and much faster, like she was flying over the ground.
After a bit of this, Sweetheart became tired, plus she was running out of meadow. She slowed down gradually, eventually coming to a halt, and put her head down, breathing hard. She couldn't run for as long as she usually did when she had Kyrarea on her back.

Well, Kyrarea thought that they had done very well. She could stay on Sweetheart's back, and she would accept her there, and even lie down so it wasn't as hard for Kyrarea to get on her back. By this time though, the sun was going down, and Kyrarea watched it from the back of her loyal Fiero. Finally, when only a little bit of light was left, Kyrarea gave the command for Sweetheart to lie down, which she did almost gratefully.
Kyrarea slowly dismounted, then walked around to Sweetheart's front and threw her arms around her in a large hug. "Good job today Sweetheart!" She said happily, before drawing out the treats and feeding three to her.
Sweetheart chewed on the treats contently, then got to her feet, shaking out her fur as she did so. She wondered what they were going to be doing next.
"I think that's it for today girl." Kyrarea said, and then turned to walk out of the meadow and back home. Sweetheart followed her, tired from the day's work, but proud at how far they had come in such a short while.

(OOC: I got muse for training from nowhere, please don't hurt me for not replying to the plot yet) She had come back. Her little mare had come home to her. Kyrarea hadn't really believed all the nonsense her friend Wolf had told her about why so many Fieros had run off. Something about the little winged lizard things (Wolf had actually called them dragons, didn't she know those didn't exist?) taking over them. It didn't matter though. She had her Sweetheart back now, and she was going to do everything in her power to make sure she never ran off again. Even though the mare was only half trained for riding, Kyrarea had deemed what she was going to teach her next far more important. It didn't matter if she trained Sweetheart to be a dressage champion if she could just run off like she had. Looking back on it, these likely should have been the first things she had taught her. They were pretty standard dog commands, and even if Fieros reminded her strongly of horses, they were, after all, very canine in origin. Kyrarea looked down at the list she carried of some hastily written commands. Which one to start with first? (20.3) (186)

Sweetheart was very confused. Her alpha had been overjoyed once she had finally found her way back home, but now she was acting like she was angry with her. Sweetheart wasn't sure what she had done wrong, but she recognized that they were heading toward the training meadow, and she hoped whatever it was, she could make up for it there.
She slunk along behind her alpha with her tail between her legs, not stopping to sniff at interesting flowers or to bark at birds. She was too worried about the way Kyrarea was behaving.
"Sit!" The command suddenly rang out, almost in a shout. With a start, Sweetheart realized that they had reached their spot in the training meadows. When she didn't comply right away, Kyrarea stabbed toward the ground with a finger and repeated the command again, louder.
With a confused whine, Sweetheart flattened her ears and let her haunches drop to the ground. She looked at Kyrarea nervously, wondering what she had done wrong.
"Stay!" Kyrarea called out, still in that horribly angry and mad voice. And with that, she turned and began walking away from Sweetheart.

Sweetheart panicked. Was her alpha.. was she abandoning her? It certainly seemed that way. Kyrarea had never turned her back on her this way, had never been so angry at her. Sweetheart didn't know what she had done wrong, but she wasn't about to let it end like this. She would prove to Kyrarea that she was a good dog or horse or mare or whatever the girl wanted to call her. She was a good dog, and whatever it was that had made Kyrarea upset, she would fix it. She just needed a second chance.
She waited for approximately two seconds before she was up and running, quickly getting in front of Kyrarea and crouching down on her belly, then rolling over onto her back, tail tucked between her legs and an expression of the deepest sadness on her face. She whined pathetically, tilting her head back to expose her sky blue throat, begging her alpha to allow her to remain with her.

Kyrarea looked, if possible, even angrier than before. Her hands balled up into fists and she shook a little, looking like she was going to yell again. But, almost against her will, she looked into Sweetheart's pleading pink eyes, and she found herself relaxing, and even feeling guilty for so obviously scaring the mare. Her behaviour now reminded her of how she was when she was a pup and it had been thunderstorming. Sweetheart used to race into her room and dive straight for wherever Kyrarea had been at the time, looking up with her puppy blue eyes and begging Kyrarea to make the loud noises stop.
The horse human took a deep breath and let it out slowly, letting her hands relax at her side. "Sorry, girl." She muttered, then took another deep breath, trying to push the anger out of her. "You just mean a lot to me, and it really got to me when you ran away. I want to be sure that's not going to happen again.
She sank to her knees, heedless of the grass and dirt, and slowly reached out a hand to stroke the trembling Fiero's striped coat. "How about we start this over, okay?"
